Through this application, the petitioner seeks clarification of the order dated 20.08.2009, the operative part of which reads as under:-

“The order accordingly is set aside.  The alternate relief awarded by the District Forum i.e. refund of deposit of Rs.1,00,000/- with 12% rate of interest

          per annum as also award of compensation of Rs.5000/- with a cost of Rs.1000/- towards litigation is upheld.  The petitioners opposite parties are directed to comply with this order within a period of one month failing which it will attract a rate of interest of 18% per annum till the date of payment.”

         Having heard the learned counsel for the parties, we are of the view that the order passed by this Commission is very specific and clear and needs no clarification from our side.  However, since some apprehension is raised by the petitioners, we clarify that the enhanced rate of interest @ 18% per annum shall be applicable only for the defaulted period i.e. only after one month of the passing of the order dated 20.08.2009.

           The application stands disposed of accordingly.
