ORDER (ORAL) Having regard to the quantum of compensation, i.e. ₹1,00,000/- awarded by the State Commission against the Children Money Back -2- Policy, obtained by Complainant’s father in his name, we do not find it to be a fit case for exercise of our Revisional Jurisdiction. Accordingly, without going into the merits of the issues sought to be raised in the Revision Petition by the Life Insurance Corporation of India, we uphold the directions with regard to payment of the afore-said amount. Nevertheless, having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, and bearing in mind the fact that the Complainant has chosen not to contest this Petition, we direct that the Insurance Company shall not be liable to pay interest, as awarded in the impugned order. It goes without saying that while remitting the aforesaid amount, as awarded by the State Commission to the Complainant, the Insurance Company shall be entitled to account for the amount which has already been paid to the Complainant. The Revision Petition stands disposed of in the above terms with no order as to costs. |
