Respondent’s buffalo died due to electrocution as it came in contact with the live wire.  Fora below, relying upon a judgement of this Commission in CGM P&O NDPCI and ors. vs. Koppu Duddarajam and Anr. – IV(2008) CPJ 139  and a judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court in Rajasthan State Electricity Board vs. Charan Singh – 1999(1) CPC 241 has held that in such cases the consumer is entitled to claim compensation.  Fora below have directed the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.24,000/- along with interest at the rate of 9% per annum from the date of filing of the complaint till realization for the loss of the buffalo.  The order passed by the fora below is in concurrence with the judgement of this Commission as well as Supreme Court.

          We do not find any infirmity in the order passed by the fora below.  Dismissed.
