The consumer courts are started with good intentions but they do not serve the purpose. To process the complaint one need not engage a lawyer, only a bank draft of Rs.100 is required. But I experienced that the consumer complaints are in majority are against big companies while consumer is alone, a novice and not fully familier with court procedures. If a consumer intends to engage a lawyer, the lawyer's fees are minimum of Rs.5000 and above and also involve several other expenses. In my case the company(EUREKA FORBES) engaged two lawyers! while I argued the case myself. In Urban Consumer court or forum the decision was given in my favour, but instead honoring the court decision the company went in appeal to the state commission. The state consumer commission watered down the lower court decision but still ordered the company to carry out the repairs to the full satisfaction of consumer. Eureka Forbes did not bother at all. Now the biggest irony next appeal can be filed by me in the national commission which is in Delhi. I am 76 years old and I am financially not sound neither I am physically able to undertake this journey. By not honoring the state consumer complaints redressal commission order the Eureka Fobes committed a serious act of The Contempt of Court but the big companies easily escape but a consumer like me suffer. The Eureka Forbes have collected CRORES OF RUPEES towards Annual Mintenance Contracts and cheated the THE CONSUMERS. There are thousands of complaints about cheating and fraud on internet against Eureka Forbes.
