I had to log a formal complaint against a travel advisor named Clear Trip the context of the complaint goes as mentioned below.

On the 29th of December 2011 myself decided to visit Mahabalipuram and had planned to stay there in a hotel named Chariot Beach resort, so made an advance online reservation through Clear trip. The cost of the whole package was 15000 plus taxes. But suddenly the whole area of Chennai was hit by a huge cyclone on 29th of December 2011. So i could not make the trip on that particular day. So i called clear trip promptly and ask for a cancellation, for which clear trip mentioned that cancellation was not possible as mentioned on the initial confirmation voucher that was sent to me. So i asked them to reschedule the travel date to some other date for which they agreed and did the modification to 26 Jan 2012.

Once the modification was done an amended voucher was sent to me in which it is clearly mentioned that the cancellation is possible on the trip if the same is done within 48 hours of check in with one nights cost of stay as cancellation policy.

Now due to some unavoidable circumstances i am not able to make it to the trip, so i called clear trip and asked them to cancel the same for which now clear trip mentions that it is not possible even to refund atleast one nights stay as per the voucher that was issued to me. So inturn i asked them if they can move the reservation to another day for which they say they cannot.

I have made a couple of observations :

1. When making the online reservation the website does not mention any thing about cancellation (neither does the website mentions that the cancellation cannot be done if the trip is cancelled) Only when the payment is done a voucher is sent and the initial voucher mentions that trip is non refundable.

Could someone please help me how to approach this.
