Excess Amount Charged by M/s Cox & Kings My wife, Mrs Rashmi Gupta, accompanied me to Europe (Germany, Italy and France) alongwith other two participants of IMI overseas program.
1. C&K offered final price of tour as Rs. 1,67,700/- .
2. C&K had given cost breakup of each item & not lump sum package price.
3. Breakup is as follows:
Airfare & taxes: Rs. 59400 (including within Europe domestic flights)
Visa: Rs. 5000
Insurance: Rs. 1500
Guide& Driver: Rs. 11600
Coach Vehicle: Rs. 16500 (earlier it was 27 seater,now 45 seater)
Toll Tax & Entry fee into monuments: Rs. 22200
Hotel + Breakfast: Rs. 28000
20% European VAT: Rs. 5600
07 Meals + 1 Gala Dinner: Rs. 15400
CNK FEES: Rs. 2500

Total: Rs. 167700
4. Hotels in Europe do not charge extra for spouses. C&K however, charged Rs 28000/- for hotel + breakfast which comes to about 410 Euro [One Euro = Rs. 68/-]. The breakfast charges are in the range of 10 Euros to 15 Euros per day. Considering 15 Euro as breakfast charges, total Euro for 13 days worked out to be only 195 i.e. only Rs. 13260/-. C&K has charged Rs. 14740/- extra from each of our spouses.
5. C&K charged toll tax and entry fee into monuments as Rs. 22200/- whereas, entry fee for only Eifel tower and Cruise Ride was paid by C&K, which was maximum 25 Euros i.e. about Rs. 1700/-. C&K charged 20500/- extra from us.
6. It was informed that because of spouses, bigger coach of 45 seater would be required against C&K original plan for a 27 seater coach. It may be noted that there were already 33 IMI passengers (31 participants + 2 faculty members from IMI). It may therefore be noted that Rs. 16500/- which was charged for a bigger coach on account of spouses is not correct and the same should be refundable. Similarly an amount of Rs. 11600/- towards guide and driver per spouse is also on a higher side.
7. A total of Rs. 59400/- were charged per spouse towards airfare and taxes, where as Delhi to Berlin and Paris to India free tickets were provided where only total tax of Rs. 17244/- was paid by C&K for booking tickets of spouses. Here also excess charges were taken by C&K.
8. Charges towards seven meals + one gala dinner was charged at 15400/- which is approximately 226 Euros or about 28 Euro per meal. Buffet lunch/dinner in offered in Europe was less than 20 Euros per meal. Here also more than Rs. 4000/- extra charged by C&K.
9. 20% European VAT charged by C&K would therefore, be much less than Rs 5600/- charged by C&K.
In the light of the facts highlighted above, C&K was requested to refund the amount to me per the following:However, I did not receive any reply from C&K so far.

In view of the foregoing and also that my hard earned money is involved, therefore, I solicit kind intervention of Consumer Court so that an amount of Rs. 67850/- + Airline ticket difference + difference in Europe VAT charged illegally by Cox & Kings for visit of my wife to Europe may be refunded to me.

IMI Europe Tour- Excess Amount Charged As desired, details are as follows:
This has reference to the visit of our spouses during the IMI Europe tour to Germany, Italy and France during 13th November to 26th November 2011. IMI Delhi organized Global Leadership Program(GLP) with domestic & overseas learning modules.
Undersigned and others were sponsored by their respective organizations to attend the program.
As part of overseas learning program, we planned to take our spouses along which was agreed to by IMI.
Overseas visit for IMI was organized by Cox & Kings Ltd (C&K) Delhi office [contact persons: Sonia Kalra & Partha Satpathy].
While planning their visit, it was informed by C&K that a separate program for spouses will be made and while we shall be busy with our studies, accompanying coordinator shall take care of visiting spouses. Keeping this in view, item wise charges were informed to us and not as lump sum charges.
Even during interaction with C&K representative on 8th Nov 2011 at ISDA, New Delhi, it was very clearly informed that since all other things are covered in the amount charged by C&K towards accompanying spouses, additional foreign exchange may be required only for shopping by spouses.

Subsequent to our exchange of mails, I received a call from Ms. Sushila from your Mumbai office on 6th Feb 2012. She insisted on forgetting what had happened during Europe trip and assured to look into as to how the issue can be resolved. She offered free holiday trip to me and my wife as part of goodwill gesture from C&K. She assured to come back soon.
However, so far neither I heard from you nor from her on this issue.
Trust C&K would take necessary action to reconcile an amount of Rs. 67850/- + Airline ticket difference + difference in Europe VAT that was charged extra from my wife during our trip to Europe as part of IMI program.

Excess Amount Charged by M/s Cox Kings What you have found there, are Flybes baggage charges, which are totally different to Loganairs charges.Loganair rules are as followsIf you have baggage in excess of your free allowance, it will only be accepted if space is available at a charge of £10. Any additional pieces of luggage will be charged at £10.Excess Baggage will only be carried subject to space being available. If your excess baggage travels unaccompanied on another flight, you are responsible for collecting this upon its arrival at the final destination.
