Club Mahindra refusing cancellation request

    Default Club Mahindra refusing cancellation request

    On Dec 19, 2011, I and my wife applied for Club Mahindra White Studio membership under 10% DP scheme. We made a payment of Rs. 27,500/- using debit card.

    On the same day, after some more deliberation, we realized the membership terms doesn't suit us both service wise and financially. So the next day ( Dec 20, 2011 ) we made it known to the Club Mahindra representative about the same and requested for cancelling our application and refund us the money.

    To our surprise we were promptly informed that no cancellation or refund is possible. When we mentioned about the clause 6.1 in the application form, we were told it doesn't apply to us.

    Also, I would like to bring to your notice that, during the presentation we were deliberately provided with wrong information to cover up drawbacks in the membership offered by Club Mahindra. To name a few -

    1. We were told the annual maintainance fee is free from inflation. Which we later found out to be completely untrue.
    2. We were told all facilities like spa treatment are completely free of cost to members.
    3. We were told that the white membership is as good as red membership if we agree to reduce the number of days by 2. But was never informed about the fact that for such upgradation we can apply only 15 days before the booking date. This virtually makes it impossible to get a booking.
    4. We were repeatedly told Club Mahindra has enough room to accomodate its more than 1 lakh members. But the numbers simply doesn't add up.

    Overall, though we appreciate the quality of holiday Club Mahindra can offer, the over aggresive sales pitch completely misguides people on the drawbacks. On top of that they pressurize people to pay the money instatly and get trapped.

    We really CANNOT afford this membership and must get our money back.

    Further to your communication I received a call from CM representative on Dec 26, 2011 and I provided all the information requested by him.
    Its been more than one week since then, but there is no further follow-up. Can you please let me know the status of my cancellation request?

    On the same day, after some more deliberation, we realized the membership terms doesn't suit us both service wise.So on Feb 21, 2012 we made it known to the Club Mahindra representative about the same and requested for cancelling our application and refund us the money.

    To our surprise we were promptly informed that no cancellation or refund is possible. When we mentioned about the clause 6.1 in the application form, we were told it doesn't apply to us.

    I'm providing the details below -

    2. Name of 2nd applicant: Babita Zaveri
    3. Type of Membership: White Studio
    4. Date of application: Feb 19, 2012
    5. Place of application: Club Mahindra Holiday World, Worli, Mumbai
    6. Amount Paid: Rs. 27,500/-
    7. Application Form No:not provided
    8. Membership Id: not provided

    This is a complete case of fraud as the clause 6.1 clearly states full refund if applicant applies for cancellation within 10 business days.

    Default Fraudulent transaction by Club Mahindra

    I am a club mahindra member, my membership number being 1938839.
    On March 2, 2012, Club Mahindra ran two transactions on my HSBC credit card. One of them, was for my yearly maintenance fee, that I had authorized (to Ms. Shanthini). However, the second was for Rs 12628, which I had certainly not authorised, and had no intimation of, till I received the alert from my bank. Thus began a nightmarish story, of calling up the Mahindra Call centre, and speaking to a different agent from Mahindra every time, and having to explain the entire background, being made to wait on the phone for long stretches of time, and promised callbacks not happening. Intitally, Club Mahindra, (Ms Anusha from customer care ) denied the very fact that this unauthorized transaction has happened. When I came back with the transaction details from the bank, and insisted that Club Mahindra look into it, Club Mahindra admitted, after a lapse of days, that they have "mistakenly" used my credit card to make a payment on behalf of some other member! I also asked Ms paromita from the club mahindra Kolkata office(who was meanwhile trying to sell me an upgrade!) to look into this,and provide me the contacts of senior management, but she didn't come back either!
    This points to the existence of a racket if I am to take things at face value,where the agents, may be having some understanding on the side, with some members , who are being subsidized by someone like me! Even if I give Club Mahindra the benefit of a doubt (and assume that this happened erroneously rather than an intentionally fraudulent transaction) it means that their payments systems are seriously flawed- otherwise how can one member's credit card be used to make a payment for another member , without the former's authorization! More alarmingly, though Club Mahindra have acknowledged their mistake verbally and through e-mail, and claim that they have issued a refund on my credit card (on Saturday March 10), the refund has not happened yet,as the refund is not reflecting in my credit card account, Club Mahindra is not being able to give me any evidence or transaction number to substantiate this claimed refund - in spite of my repeatedly calling up Mr. Raja Dorai from Club Mahindra collections- and once again, I am not getting any callbacks - and am having to do all the chasing on my own.Meanwhile, the resolutions keeps getting pushed from day to day, and Club Mahindra has already missed their commited deadline for issue resolution several times now. This has caused me immense stress and anxiety.
    I have given them enough time to fix this issue, but have reached the end of my patience now, I would welcome help on how I can have the refund effected immediately (I have also lodged a dispute with the bank re the unauthrized transaction) and how I can be recompensed for all the wasted time, and the mental stress, trying to sort out the issue with club mahindra . Also, I would like to publicize this issue to highlight Club Mahindra's seriously flawed payment systems (where they have used my credit card to make a payment for another member without my knowledge or permission- a fact which they themselves have acknowledged via e-mail and phone call!) , and their pathetic level of customer service charecterized by their complete absence of proactive follow up and reverts/callback.

    Unhappy want to cancel the deal

    I am Kavita Narang of UTTRAKHAND RAMNAGAR.I have chosen the season of WHITE, and membership tenure is of 25years.My 3EMIs are cleared.

    So,Iwant to cancel my membership and with return money back.
