    Angry Irresponsibility by MakeMyTrip and Sterling Resorts

    I had booked a "Superior" room for 1 night at Rs.3000 + 566 tax in Sterling Resort RockPerch, Yercaud on 9th July 2011 for our anniversary through MakeMyTrip (Booking Id: NH251601365839) . I choose to book it through MMT instead of Sterling resort website only because i was previous customer of MMT and i had Rs.500 discount coupon from them.

    But on reaching the Sterling resort, we had a horrible experience of our life. They made us wait till 1 pm (as against standard checkin of 12 PM) while they were giving away rooms to their members and then they gave us "Standard" room. On asking why we were giving Standard room against out booking for Superior room, the resort people said Standard room is Superior room for MMT customers. The room 403 was in very pathetic condition with broken floor, broken bathroom knob (cant open door from inside), non working TV, dirty (so called white but were brown) towels. On asking them to change the room, they refused saying no other rooms available. We then called MMT customer care and asked them to get us Superior room as per booking. But resort and MMT people argued saying they have only standard room category and nothing called superior room in that resort. When i checked on sterlingresorts.in, there was Standard room (Rs.2500 + tax) and Superior room (Rs.3000+tax). On repeated calling, MMT said they will send their BD manager to resolve it. But no one came there to our help. So we were forced to stay in same room and checkout at 10 am in next morning spoiling our whole anniversary in fighting with these people.

    After we came back i sent a mail to MMT customer care and called them 8-10 times to get refund for not providing the promised quality of service which is a right of every customer, MMT said the resort have agreed to pay only 50% money back and they credited only Rs.1283 calculated as follows Rs.3566 (amount paid by me) - Rs.1783 (cancellation fee) - Rs.500 (discount).

    MMT and Sterling resort have not given the service and they are forcefully charging Rs.1783+Rs.500 for that shabby room. Is this the business ethics? If they did not have empty rooms in same category then they should have provided alternate room or refund there itself. They spoilt our anniversary and we spent about Rs.4000 on petrol and Rs.1500 on food and other expenses to spend time in such a dodgy resort? Please help us get a complete refund of room booking and the damages if possible.
