That’s pretty sad what happened, but on my my last cancellation last minute to the tour to Scotland, I got a refund from Thomas Cook India with a few charges deducted. Hopefully you'll also get yours soon.

Refund of money from Thomas Cook India
I and my daughter had booked the super budget tour of Europe with Thomas Cook Connaught Place Office. We had paid the booking amount of 25,000 Rs each on the 20th of April. The documents and passport for visa processing was submitted on the 27th of April and the remaining payment of 102532 Rs was made on 10th May. We were to join the tour group from Paris on the 3rd of June. On the 30th of May we came to know that the visa had been rejected by the French embassy in Delhi and Thomas Cook initiated the process of cancellation on the same day itself. But till date I have not got any intimation for refund of the amount. Whenever I call up the CP office they give the same reply that they have not got any reply from the head office in Mumbai or that they have not got reply from the suppliers. All the amounts have been paid via cheques payable to Thomas Cook account. The branch manager Ms Shruti Sharma has not even spoken to me once and refuses to take my calls. She has not answered my emails. Their customer service is the worst that I have seen. They are only bothered about closing the deal because the same attitude was shown while we were enquiring about why the visa was taking so long when it is usually processed within five working days.
Through your esteemed forum I hope I can get the refund of the amount paid. This entire episode has turned a holiday plan into a nightmare for me and my daughter. I sincerely hope I can get justice.
Thanking you

I and my wife had booked for asian wonders for 9th of april,2012...we had submitted all the documents 1 months before.we were suppose to visit three places singapore, malaysia and thailand.
Our two visa was done and thomas cook people said that thailand visa we will get on arrival and they returned Rs 2000/- per person, but after reaching thailand it was charged around 4000/- per person.Although it was not my fault as i submitted all the documents 1 month before thomas cook is refusing to pay me the difference amount which i paid for on arrival visa..
