    Default Tour and Travel Agent

    Dear Sir,

    I and my wife had recently been to Malaysia and Singapore. The tickets and all
    arrangements were done by a travel agent
    M/s Namaste India, based in Malad, Mumbai.

    However, we had to face lots of trouble due to their lack of proper arrangement.

    1) They informed us that we get visa on arrival to mayalsia.. and they had
    booked our train tickets from singapore to malaysia.. and return..
    however, on our way back to malaysia, we were stopped by the singapore
    immigration at railway station for not having the visa and were informed
    that visa on arrival is not availble at singapore railway staion and we were not
    allowed to board the train to malaysia... We were
    taken to singapore immigration police station and were questioned about our
    where abouts.. after long discussion, we were
    almost left standstill at singapore station with all the luagage and finally had
    to go ... cancel the train tickets.... go to visa embassy ...
    take new visa.. and go to coach station.. and take a bus back to singapore...
    our whole day went just carrying the luggage from one place to other
    and after all the embarresment we had to face at the immigration...

    2) We had train tickets back and forth from singapore to malaysia... upon our
    arrival to malaysia.. we had to change our schedule and
    planned to travel to singapore a day earlier and we informed the travel agent to
    booked the tickets by bus and cancel the train tickets...
    We were informed by the agent that the train tickets once cancelled will have no
    refund. upon that information, we trusted the same,
    and went ahead to book the bus tickets by paying extra money from our own
    pockets... but while returning from singapore, ( as mentioned
    in point no. 1), we came to know that the train tickets could be cancelled and
    could get the refund back too, which the agent didnt do
    and informed us with wrong details...

    3) We were informed by our travel agent about a special show at malaysia, called
    seru malayu which included free dinner.... and charged us
    USD 100/- ( Rs. 4,500/- ) per peron for the same.... Upon reaching Mayalsia,
    Seru Malayu... we came to know.. that the price for dinner is only Ringit 79/-
    ( Rs. 1000/-). and the cultural dance was free which was included in the dinner.
    exactle the apposite what was infomred to us by the tour agent.
    we thought it would be in a big opera.. but finally it turned out to be a very
    small place.... and we had to pay Rs. 9000/- instead of Rs. 2000/-.
    They can charge high but not 400 % high.... with wrong information.

    We have been chasing the tour agent for the problem that we faced at immigration
    and for the reimbursement incurred by us for the additional expenses
    for taxis, bus tickets and cancellation of train tickets and especially for the
    troubles that we went through customs.... and also for the 3rd Point for the
    show...
    which almost goes upto Rs. 25,000/ for reimbursent for expenses and additional
    Rs. 25,000/- i informed them to pay for the troubles that we faced with
    immigration..

    The above trip was in the month of June and for last two month we have been
    following and chasing the travel agent for almost two months
    but the response from the travel agent is pathetic.... finally they confirmed me
    to pay only 8,000/- just for train refund and for troubles that i faced at
    customs...
    and for the coach and taxis amounts they are yet to take decision.. i had
    informed them to send me Rs.8000 and told them that i will follow up with the
    higher authorities
    for the pending issuess.. however, there has been no response from their side..
    no payments and very bad service.. only i have been following up and calling
    them
    infinite times.. but no response from their side..

    Pls help me how to come out of this.. so that they dont take anyone for
    granted.. and dont charge so exhorbitely high from any other customers....

    AFTER MAKING COMPLAINT & SENDING N NUMBER OF REMINDERS I DIDN'T GOT ANY REPLY & COMPENSATION FOR ALL THE ORDIAL I & MY PARTNER HAD TO FACE DURING OUR HOLIDAY TRIP...IF ANYBODY CAN HELP ON THIS....

    Below mentioned is communication history between me & namaste india staff....



    Dear Zeenat / Sumit / Namaste India,

    Its been more than a week now i haven't recieve any communication from your side. Its very upsetting to see such a irresponsible behaviour.

    Let me remind you that i had booked a vacation through you at HarshGiri Lake Resort on 13th Aug,2009 for 14, 15 & 16th Aug,2009 for a couple. Before heading for HarshGiri I had confirmed twice about my booking & it was confirmed as told by ZEENAT & SUMIT. When I reached Harshgiri Resort, Shahpur I discovered that the booking never happened & i had to stand at the gate for more than 2 hours just to confirm from Namaste India. And more shocking was nobody had a courtosy to call back & answer a call when i had called & say clearly about the true status.

    Again i waited for a call from Namaste India since last one week but it seems that you took me for granted & have forgotten my case thinking that I can't do anything.

    As you say 100% penalty for any reschedule & cancellation of booking, I want adequate cash compensation for all the trouble & embarassment me & my wife had to face. Else I will take Namaste India to court & then court will see how to get things done. You arrive at the compensation figure considering all the pain I had gone through or else tell me i'll do your job easy. Kindly do the needful in max 7 days from today.

    Awaiting your reply at the earliest.
