My mom had booked a char dham trip through rao travels for 10 people from may 14 to may 27, 2010. They charge nearly 13000 for the 14 day trip and it would be better to donate them in the temple rather then give to these people. They have had a really horrendous time with these people right from the booking stage. Here is a list
1) were promised twin sharing rooms, made to stay in dormitory with 5 people in a room
2) No guide in the bus they were traveling
3) left stranded on the road by rao travel authorities, she had to book own accommodation(for other people for nearly 4 days!) and spend the night in the cold in the open air jeep.
4) given wrong address details of where to go when car broke down and no reservation in that hotel by the name of rao travels
5) Later my mom spotted them in a line for the darshan where the concerned person(Mr. Ranjan) says that he tried contacting them but no connectivity! why couldnt they have stayed back with these people and guided them to the hotel
6) no licenses(driver) for any of these cities, park vehicles outside the city, make people walk nearly between 5-14 kms at each place for no reason
7) no proper arrangements made for restroom facilities especially for ladies.
8) no one responding in wither of the delhi/hyderabad office and their personnel in the tour responds in a tone as if it is not his duty.

am not going to be quiet after this incident and want this to be taken to the authorities. Not only my immediate family members but a lot of other people are suffering at the hands of these useless travel agents.
They are jus blindly fooling people and i would advice everyone not to book by rao travels as none of the things they promise on paper is provided. and i think they should be derecognised by the ministry of tourism with immediate affect. they cant take the customer for granted because we are paying money for these services not travelling for free.
