I had hired Agarwal packers and Movers for shifting of my household items and vehicle ( TATA INDIGO) from Jamnagar to Gurgaon. They charge huge amount as compared to other movers and packers and I hired them because of their reputation. All the money was taken by them in advance through cheque before starting from Jamnagar. When my vehicle was delivered to me at Gurgaon, I found that its steering is very hard to rotate and very high vibrations were there on starting the vehicle. Now when I opened the bonnet, in presence of the person who came to deliver the vehicle, I found engine tilted towards one side and power steering oil pipe damaged and oil drained. The person said that abnormal sound started coming from vehicle very near to my house. He told me to get the vehicle repaired and they will reimburse the cost and went in a hurry without even getting the signatures on receipt of vehicle.

I called Tata Service station mechanic and on inspection he told that the person driving the vehicle drove on some speadbreaker on speed and this resulted in breaking of all the 3 engine mounting bolts and subsequently engine tilted and resulted in damage of power steering pipe. The vehicle was towed away by them to their service station and I received back the vehicle after 5 days. Meanwhile I called vehicle incharge of movers and packers to come and pay the bill, but he assured me to pay the same and they will reimburse the same. I had no option but to pay Rs 6600/- bill and take back the vehicle. Now I contacted their no. of persons in Gurgaon, Jamnagar, Delhi, including customer care, for the payment but keep on deffering the issue. At last after 20 days they told me that payment will not be made. When I asked them that I have not even signed the vehicle receipt and I can go to consumer court or police, they told that money will not be paid and I can go where ever I feel good.

Further the glass of crockery stand got damaged during transportation and same was mentioned in the receipt, they promissed to get the same reaired within 2-3 days. But even after one and a half month no body reported for repairs even after repeated remineder calls.

Now what action I should take. It is very frustrating that the service provider can take us for a ride.
