I have faced a similar situation.
Background:
TV Model – CZ21K5SDX/XTL purchased ~ 2002/2003
The Service Compliant was on 09/07/2008.
A Repair Shop who claimed to have been informed by Samsung about our complaint. A Repair Shop person, claimed to represent Samsung, inspected the TV, estimated INR 800/- as repair charges & collected the TV. Later the call came from the Repair Shop that estimate is now ~INR 2300/- due to unforeseen part-malfunction after opening the TV at repair shop. We paid The TV worked thereafter well.
This complaint was mysteriously closed at Samsung’s end.
There seems to be a nexus between the ASC or local Repair Shops and Telephone Operators/Samsung Service Providers. The ASC / local Repair Shops are in cohorts with the Service Providers.
