    Angry Bravia klv-32s400a defective panel



    I bought a Bravia LCD TV KLV-32S400A around 1-1/2 years back. 1-1/2 months back it started showing negative images.
    I called the service center, Madonna Electronics, Kollam, Kerala one month back and the technician came and checked it.
    He said it is a panel problem and it it will cost 11,000 for replacing the panel.
    I have done continuous follow up with the Service Center to know the exact problem and the solution to resolve the issue.
    One day I called up the service center and they replied that there is a Manufacturing Defect with the LCD Panel & since this was identified in the 17th month from the date of purchase Sony will replace the panel Free of Cost (FOC) but, they need to get approval from Sony India and so they are waiting for the reply.
    I called the service center today and they said it will cost Rs.5500 and they will check the motherboard and if the problem is with the motherboard they will replace that.

    Lets assume that we use the television for say max 6 hours per day...Our Total usage will be 6 * 500(No of Days) = 3000 hours.
    Dose this imply that Sony TV Cannot operate for more then 3000 hours?? Normally a LCD TV lasts for approximately 600000 hours.

    My parents had bought Sony Flat TV in 2002 in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. In December 2004 our house was hit by Tsunami and the TV was lying there for 3 days and when the sea water receded, we asked a technician to wash it with fresh water and fix back. The technician did not even change a single part.
    That time I was proud to have a Sony since we were lucky that our TV was working even though our house was hit by Tsunami. Every one used to say "It is a Sony. "Now it is around 9 years since we bought that TV and it is still working fine.

    My first Sony product was Sony Walkman that my cousin brought from UAE. I have a Vaio 3 years old and we have a music system that also Sony.

    I am ashamed to recommend this product to my friends, after being a loyal Customer for last 25 years. I called Sony toll-free number today, and the guy gave me email-id sonyindia.ks@ap.sony.com and that email had delivery failure.

    I am now regretting my decision for buying Sony Bravia LCD TV, Sony Trinitron TV is better than Bravia.

    I request to Sony India, hope Sony India will look into & help me, waiting for your favor.

    This is in continuation of the mail, your request has been considered as a special case.
    We are pleased to inform you that the parts will be replaced free of cost. However, we shall charge the service charges plus taxes and if you require us to pick up and deliver the Television, then the charges are extra.
    The service centre will contact you in this regards and expedite the repairs accordingly.
    We assure you of our continuous support at all times.

    Thank you Sony India to resolve my complaint.
