Dear team,
I had earlier put a complaint about my customer service experience with Sony. Where consumer forum helped me with raising my complaint, however I am still waiting Sony representative to respond.
Now after a lot of calling I was able to get my self through this horrible situation. Finally I called up local Sony service center directly after a lot of begging / pleading someone visited and took TV picture and sent them to Sony for an estimated repair cost.
Today I received an email from the service center the estimated value for repair is whopping 117,000.
The moment I heard this estimated cost I went into shock and despair that later turned into depression. Helpless I have no way out.
Here is some history. I bought a Sony Bravia LCD "KDL-52W4100" from US in Aug 2008 at that time the TV was purchased from best buy at a price tag of $1700=81600rs @ 48Rs = $1.
I used this for 2 years then I moved to india I moved everything along with the TV. it safely reached india, however in local transport somehow the LCD Panel got damaged. An invisible damage on the screen.

I bought a Sony TV for 81600rs and now I sit with a damaged TV that otherwise works fine except for the LCD screen.

I am looking for this TV to be repaired there is no clause in Sony manual which says that Sony will not provide support for TVs or will provide support in such a way that it becomes impossible for anyone to repair there on TV bought from authorized vendors. How did the value of an old TV get more expensive, techonolgybdepreciates here in this case it has appreciated exponentially.

Kindly request you to help me in this issue. This has got me into depression seein the TV day in day out and knowing that repairing TV is more expensive than actually buying a new one.

Frustrated & depressed customer,

Rohit S.
