This is regarding the LCD TV that I bought 2 years back from Samsung Digital Plaza (thru QRS, Thiruvananthapuram) for Rs 47,990. It worked fine for 2 years. Suddenly the picture colour started showing some major problems and teh TV has become unusable. I registered a complaint with Samsung service center at Trivandrum. After repeated calls and reminders finally the service center has confirmed that the entire panel has to be replaced (earlier technician had mentioned that replacing the board might be enough) and it costs Rs. 24,000+. The company wants me to pay Rs. 15,000 (discounted price).
I had done some research about TVs before deciding to buy an LCD TV though it was very expensive. The Samsung sales guys had marketed the fact that LCD TVs have longer life and that is the only reason why I went for LCD and decided on Samsung since I thought it was a good brand.
I am thoroughly disappointed both with the quality of the Samsung LCD TV and the delay/quality in response by the Samsung service center. I was shocked to see that Samsung manufactures goods with such low quality that an LCD TV (that costs Rs. 50,000) fails in 2 years time and make the consumers spend tens of thousands of rupees again on repair and replacement.

This is regarding the LCD TV that I bought 2 years back from Samsung Digital Plaza (thru Fundamental Electronics, City Center Kolkata) for Rs 51,000. It worked fine for 2 years. Suddenly the picture colour started showing some major problems and the TV has become unusable. I registered a complaint with Samsung service center at Kolkata. After inspection the service center has confirmed that the entire panel has to be replaced and it costs Rs. 25,000.
The Samsung sales guys had marketed the fact that LCD TVs have longer life and that is the only reason why I went for LCD and decided on Samsung since I thought it was a good brand. I fail to understand that why, TVs with such manufacturing defects are marketed since I can find so many similar problems being logged by other fellow consumers.
I am thoroughly disappointed both with the quality of the Samsung LCD TV and I am shocked to see that Samsung manufactures goods with such low quality that an LCD TV (that costs Rs. 50,000) fails in 2 years time and make the consumers spend 50% of the money again on repair and replacement.

This is to inform you that I purchased Samsung LCD model - LA32R81 on 16/9/07 vide bill no S5226 from Electro Mart Stores Pvt Ltd. (Noida UP) and having a nightmare experiences since then.
It stopped working within 2 months (first week of Nov 2007 ie on 3/11/09), and I registered a complaint with service center and they took 4-5 days to get it back on track. Service centre engineer replaced PCB.
It worked fine but then again broke down 24th August 2008, This time service centre took more than a week to get it back on the track (replaced Assy PCB). Complaint no was 8405985743. During this time I made more than 10 follow up call on different days but you never bother to look after the pain and agony customer was facing. It seemed that this piece has a manufacturing defect and doesn't confirm the quality standards advocated by Samsung. The performance has been never been up to the mark.
Every time some or other parts is changed and it works fine for some time but could not last longer
Now again on 6/9/2009 this set broke down and no picture were appearing on the screen. It started with showing red/green/yellow lines randomly and next day it was all gone. After a repeated call and email samsung service engineer visited the site and told that DIGITAL CARD had failed and it only come with LCD PANEL. That mean LCD PANEL has to be replaced and estimate provided was Rs25,000+. After chasing them and when informed about the history of this LCD, Samsung want that it can be replaced in Rs18,975.00.
For me this has been a nightmare experience having spend Rs51000/- for such a poor product. We took every possible steps to best utilisation and followed do's & don't but none of them proved fruitful. How can these be fruitful when piece/product was rubbish and not properly quality checked?
The piece you have delivered was scrap. A TV is supposed to last minimum 10-20 years, customer doesn't buy it for 10-20 months. Forgot about the years this set even could not last for days. It was bought on 16/9/09 and installed in next 3 days. And it broke down on 3/11/09, hardly lasting for 40 days. It would develop a snag so early was not in the least expected. Since then this is third incident. It has been lying inoperative for two months.
I stand cheated in the broad daylight. This LCD has a manufacturing defect that has lead to its frequent breakdown.
I wrote many email but of no use, Please help.
Please advice what action I should take. Thanks anilkr.thakur@googlemail.com
Dear Mr. Thakur,

you have two options now either you send a reminder to their higher ups or you can lodge a complaint in a consumer court but keep a proper record of all written correspondence or verbal communications
Hi
Thanks for the reply. I have sent letter to their New Delhi, HO. I have few doubts as follows
1) In earlier letter i had given them notice of 30 days. If i send them reminder do I have to give them time again?
2) Their HO is in New Delhi. I reside in Mumbai. If I decide to take legal action in which court the case will stand, Mumbai or New Delhi?
3) Generally within how many days court gives its decision?
Thanks & regards,

I've bought a 32" Samsung LCD TV in Nov 2007. Some horizontal lines started appearing after 2 years of use and the screen color changes to red intermittently. I logged a complaint and a Samsung service engineer visited us he found that the PCB and SMPS are fine so it is the panel which is faulty. The quoted panel life is 60,000 hrs, how it failed in 2 yeras itself when the usage is approximately 2 hrs daily. I've seen similar complaints in the forum and seriously feels that the quality of the product is not good. The warranty period is just 1 year and all the numbers quoted are just to attract customers.
Thanks,
Piyush (piyushrai@rediffmail.com)
Dear all,
I am also one the victims of these television manufacturers.
(32" LCD panel gone in 14 months).
I have seen a lot of such complaints and I was about to post.
Just wanted to know, what is the outcome?
Did anyone get a free replacement (with new one)?
Did anyone get free repair (replacement of panel)?
Did anyone got the replacement done at very small price (if yes, how much)?
Please share your experience, it will help many people like me.

Hi,
I brought a samsung LCD 46" brand new TV from UK 2 months back and after bringing the TV from UK it is not functioning here. After consulting the service center here in chennai, they say that the panel has gone and should be replaced and that it does not have an international warranty. Can anyone tell me whether i can approach the headoffice for replacement of the panel free of cost and what should be done regarding this.
Thanks
Nandini

Hi ,
It may look a trivial issue to you, but i still want you to read the complete communication and restore my faith in SAMSUNG electronics.
I brought LCD TV 26" from Apesha. Electronics Ayodhya Nagar , Nagpur, Model no. LA26A450C/LXL on 18th July 2008. Suddenly on 30th April 2010 picture become total white hazing blurred image. I registered complaint at Samsung consumer support, on May 4th, Complaint no: -84147899082. The technician told me the problem is with the LCD PANLE and needed to be replaced which costs around 15000/- /- pulse 1000/- service charge. I got call from Samsung executive and was offered to replace by panel at discounted price which is around 13000/-. When I refused they told me to send a mail to support.india@samsung.com and FAX the General Manager Mumbai on 02226122626. I am waiting for the response of my mail.I am still not able to find out the reason of the problem. Today in market similar to this available at the price around Rs. 23,000/- Life of LCD Panel would work around 60,000 hrs. Samsung co. should replace free of cost as i brought spending Rs.31,000/-.. It is like punishment after buying the SAMSUNG LCDTV..
I am not sure if this is the correct diagnosis if yes, it must be a manufacturing defect of the company, as i haven't seen such cases for TV sets i (and also the people i know) had used before neither the set has any sort of physical damages.
Can you please help me here so that we do not loose faith in buying the products of your company.
Thanks & Regard
