Hi,

I had a flight to board from Hyd to New Delhi on Dec 3, 2011 for which i booked a yellow cab at 4:30 am. My flight was schedule to depart at 6:20 am and my boarding cut off time was 5:40 am.

I got the SMS from the cab service providers detailing the contact number of the driver who was going to pick me. The driver of the cab woke up from my call when I dialed his number at 4:30 am. He said he will be there in 5 minutes. I called yellow cabs and they echoed what driver said. after about 15 minutes I called the driver and he said the same thing again, "5 minutes." He finally reached my place at 5:15 am. When I reached the airport and tried to check in my baggage, I was told that the boarding gates are closed and i was late. It was 5:47 (exact time).

I had to buy a ticket for a different flight for which I paid Rs. 6,800 extra.

I want to ask, in cases such as these, isn't the cab providers should be made liable to the extent of the extra money paid by an individual?
