I run a library, where to keep some hot beverages for readers we took cafe coffee day machine on lease; it was running fine for more than 1.5 yrs. We are paying Annual maintenace to Cafe Coffee Day 18000/- for which every month a technician from their company come and check the machine.
Now on the night of 15th January it caught fire ; luckily fire did not spread as the machine was placed on Granite Slab; and nobody got hurt as it happened during library's closing hours, but it did burn for long and smoke was confined for long because of which soot got deposited on ceiling,walls,furniture and even books. I had to shut down my facility for 10 days; have to get it cleaned and repainted. which cost me huge some of money.

I want to claim this amount on Cafe Coffee Day; which they are denying saying its not their fault; they are ready to replace the machine but no compensation. what can I do? do I have a case here?
