In July2011, indianrailways.gov.in has opened up new e-ticket booking(different from irctc).
This was announced in previous budget.
So, i thought of trying the govt site for booking e-ticket(as it should be more reliable than irctc).
I created my login on indianrailways.gov.in/indianrailway/journeyplanner/layout/journey_planner.seam
I had communicated through email to customercare@indianrailways.gov.in as per their advise on dt.05.09.2011 and subsequent reminders ending on 31.12.2011 regarding cancellation & refund of booked amount. I had submitted the required information for cancellation on 5.9.2011. The date of booking was on 16/07/2011 at 13:45:28 & cancelled on 05.09.2011. The journey date was 1.10.2011. It is not understood how the Indian Railway is taking so much time to refund the booked amount of Rs 5215/- to my SBI SB A/C. as all the passengers were in waiting list at the time of cancellation. Inspite of repeated contacts, the amount of the cancelled ticket has not yet been refunded by the Indian Railway. Please help me in filing consumer case against the Indian Railway.
