Several trains from Mumbai to Gujarat were cancelled for the second day Thursday after heavy rains led to widespread flooding.
"Due to incessant rains and water logging on the Mumbai Suburban Section, Western Railway's long distance train services have been affected," said an official release Thursday.
The trains cancelled include Ahmedabad-bound Gujarat Express and Shatabdi Express, Bandra-Surat Intercity, Saurashtra Express and Bandra-Vapi Passenger.
Officials admitted that it might take a day or two to fully restore rail traffic between Mumbai and various parts of Gujarat.
Railway traffic on these routes had been affected for more than week earlier this month following rains in central and south Gujarat.
