    Unhappy Irctc service (cheating common people)

    I booked a ticket via an agent on the indian railways internet ticket booking service on : irctc.co.in.
    it is better to say that I was compelled to book the ticket on irctc.co.in.
    I will explain it to you, how it has happened

    My Date of Journey was : 11.05.2009.
    Date of Booking via irctc.co.in . : 09.02.2009. (before 90 Days ).

    But on the Railway Ticket Reservation Counter the ticket for my journey opens
    on 10.02.2009. & not on 09.02.2009.

    As the Reservation gets full on 09.02.2009 via indian railways internet ticket booking service. The person who stands at the Railway Ticket Reservation Counter on 10.02.2009. only gets RAC or WL and not the confirmed tickets.

    so, this is a cheating done by the Railways towards the Common people who are unaware or are not capable to use their service on irctc.co.in.

    Even though a person books a ticket through an authorised agents recruited by the railways. he has to pay (Per Person). : IRCTC SERVICE CHARGES, AGENTS CHARGES, SUB-AGENTS CHARGES ETC., which nearly reaches a good sum.

    I request the railways to allow booking on their website & on Railway Ticket Reservation Counter on the same date i.e. on 10.02.2009. ( as in my case ).

    So, kindly note the records and take necessary actions against the Indian
    Railways for cheating the common men.

    Default IRCTC Cheats online Booking

    IRCTC is cheating during online tatkal booking. I definitely see a scam going here. As soon as it reaches 8:00AM the website immediately displays "Service Not Available" and miraculously it return after 5min with all the tickets booked, only to find I am in the waiting list already. Can some concerned person take a look into this issue? I strongly feel there is some collaboration between the booking agents and IRCTC. Booking agents always gets the ticket booked with Available seats. Please have this issue investigated.

    e tickt agents cannot book tatkal ticket between 8 to 9am why??

    Sir,
    i am a e ticket agent i got that the irctc agents cannot book tatkal tickets at the time 8 to 9am. This is not fair for the agents whose life is depends on etickets. We have paid the amount that was asked for us for the frenchisee for the irctc, one who do the fraud he must be punished but this is wrong that we all be punished for that, then please try to catch those peoples wo does that frauds, and punish them.
    What about those peoples who cannot book tatkal tickets, who are illlitrate, who dont know to book the tickets online as well as childs, who dont have credit cards or debit cards or any other payment gatways cards, who works for them, dont they have right to got the tickets, you have to think for them, who will do for them ....... An e -ticket agent....... & if they will not be allowed for eticket tatkal booking they cannot help them
    all the peoples as well as agents must have the same rights to book the tatkal tickets, but the rule should be that -- both have to book without any software or any other fast booking tricks. They could book tatkal only by using irctc login with step wise procedure, not from quick book option.
    This is my leagally request please think about that.......... And if they could not catch the fraudulents then they are not doing their duties for the govt. Of india and they are running away from their duties

    Default IRCTC purposefully not allowing the public to book taktal tickets online

    I want to know why they are doing this.To get a successful page it takes lot of time, but to get this stupid "Service Unavailable" message it doesnt take a fraction of second. Are they doing something at the browser end ? there is no logic behind this message. Booking Tatkal ticket from home is next to impossible now. Whether you log in before 8 am or after 8 am...it doesnt matter. Here is what it happenes,

    Even if you log in before 8 am, you have to relogin at 8 am
    from 8 am to 8:10, you will keep on getting "Service Unavailable" messages for login page itself.
    From 8:10 to 8:20, There is 5% chance that you will be successful upto log in but after that you will face other problems like calendar not getting displayed in addition to stupid "Service Unavailable" message. After so many tries you can maximum check the availability but after that you will keep getting that stupid message to progress further.
    From 8:20 to 8:30, There is 10 - 15% chance to log in and provide the passenger details but the image will not be displayed. After so many tries and facing the stupid message most of the time, you may be able to go to the next page
    From 8:30 to 8:40, There is 20 - 25% chance that you can go upto Passenger details page and attempt to got to Bank site. After so many wated attempts and starting all over from login process, you will finally get a waitlisted ticket for the effort you have put from 8 AM going thru this nightmare.

    Meanwhile so many agents/brokers at the counters happily book the tickets. I think IRCTC can very well tell that they will close the site and go with counter booking like they used to do couple of years back.

    I pity on all indians for having our Railway Services in this condition. These guys will never changes as long as get get benifited from unlawful ways but harassing the common man.

    Sir,

    I have gone through various complaints regarding the tatkal booking. I too have the same complaint. As soon as time for booking tatkal ticket starts, i.e., 8.00, you will never be able to get logged in showing unavailable services and after 5 mins, you will log in but by that time, you will be in waiting list. Why is it so??? Either stop this service or improve it..

    I never faced it before but from last 3 days the torture i was having and the way irctc.co.in is doing things make me very frustrated.
    it all started with booking a tatkal ticket, the moment 180 seats got booked within within 4 min time. its almost impossible for a user to book a tatkal ticket through irctc.

    The agent is charging their commission which equals the amount of ticket and its really sad.
    irctc is their for agents and i am not sure why they even have common user platform when it is of no use.

    complaining here or showing my dissatisfaction may not help because they ae least bothered to listen to consume complaints. At least they should come up with some solution or even shuting down their service may help.

    irctc llok into it or shutdown ur operations that will even be a great relief, having this half cooked system is hard to consume.

    Thumbs down Special Quota for Agents

    the railway guys charge Rs 50 per a ticket from the agent and the agent in turn charges between 100 to 200 per ticket from the customer. The tatkal scheme is only for agents and not for common people like u and me. I know one agent in mumbai who assures confirmed ticket by charging Rs 200 rs per ticket. He says that irctc have a special quota for agents and it is completely legal when they have already paid a sum to get the franchise from irctc. My advice to the people is if u want a confirmed ticket pls get hold of a agent who will do the job for u.

    Default Innefficiency at its peak

    IRCTC is not competent to run such a service which millions of people access. They have no clue on running this securely and smoothly. This service should be outsourced to private sector, with service level agreements and accountability. Multiple parties must be allowed to run the service so that people can select the best provider based on their performance.

    Unhappy irctc chEATING ONLINE

    i have booked a ticket online and when i check for conformation it shows that only the money is diducted and out ricket is not book i dont understand what should i do
