    Angry standard chartered bank is not releasing my PF.

    I resigned from Standard chartered bank after around 6 yrs of service in 2008.they credited my gratuity without any further documentation.when i wanted to withdraw my provident fund, they asked for withdrawal form which i sent. they ahve received all the required documents for releasing PF , but they are not doing so and are asking notice period money from me.They have not released my Superannuation also. The PF they say is ruled by internal trust of the bank.
    please tell me how to go about it. Is is a rule that one cannot get PF without giving the notice period money. they are harrassing me and i am mentally tortured.Please someone hlep me.the PF office of this bank is in Chennai.

    Hello,

    A member of Employees' provident fund scheme is a 'consumer' and delay in settlement of provident fund claim would amount to deficiency in services, and the provision of the Consumer Protection Act can be invoked against the provident fund commissioner by a member of the employees' provident fund scheme. The Supreme Court observed that the P.F scheme is a 'service' and the administrative charges to be paid under the scheme show that the scheme is for consideration.
