I recently ported from Vodafone to TataDocomo (relationship number: 909163602) being sick of their Vodafone's bad network. In retrospect, it seems like a trade-off between the ocean and the devil.
I have been plagued with marketing SMS and calls ever since. Numerous complaints and assurances of "callbacks" and "will be resolved by" just failed to materialize. I even wrote to their nodal and Appallete authorities informing them that I was on the DND and I'm continuing to get these SMS and call, but to no avail. All i get in response is "we will contact you in 2 days" (their offices must be located in a different planet where its rotation is slower than that of Earth and that would explain why I still have not been contacted by anybody).
The recent TRAI diktat that post-Sept 27th all pesky SMS and calls would be stopped by the Service Provider, made me think that I may finally have a resolution to a problem that's plagued me for so long. So, here's what happened.
27 Sept11: 3 SPAM messages (2 from Tata itself - selling Tata Photon and Tata Vista sedan)
28 Sept11: Its like the spammers are thumbing their noses at TRAI - 5 spam SMS and two marketing calls! (and still counting)
I tried calling Docomo's helpline again today and tried speaking with a manager, i was told by a floor supervisor that I should contact the nodal office or the Appallete and if they are not responding then I should lodge a complaint against them!! Its like dealing with a government office - from pillar to post!! I intend to collect all possible details and go to the consumer court as I fail to see the humor in getting pesky SMS at 3AM.
Could anybody advice on what forms to fill and the approach to take to log a complaint at the Consumer Court?
