I purchased a Nano CX in February 2011 from Tayal Motors (Main Mathura Road, Faridabad). I had specifically inquired to install a Left Side Outside Rear View mirror and I was told by their salesman Mr. Utkarsh that it is not in stock and will be available in 14 days and will be installed then. For 1 month I followed up with them and when time came for my 1st service, then also they said its not in stock.

I went for my 6 months service in August 2011 and then the service adviser noted down that the mirror was to be installed. In the evening when I went to pick up my car, they said that the denter was not there so it cannot be installed. I kept my service adviser nagging and got him to ask the store to give me a Outside rear view mirror for left side. I purchased it and the service adviser said to come the next day as the painter was not there. (the mirror was black and my car is silver in color). The next day the painter was still not there and the denter, who was to drill the holes in the door was also not there. They said that the mirror cannot be installed as Tata does not provide the mirror. Then they were not even aware that mirror for nano even existed. Their GM (Service), Mr. Srivastav said that the entire door will have to be changed as this does not have holes, and then that the complete care package would be void, and warranty would not be valid. After me convincing him that I am ready to bear the consequences, he asked a manager to get the equipment ready. The manager reported that they do not have a drilling machine. Imagine a body workshop where cars are repaired regularly saying that they do not have a drilling machine. Mr. Srivastav asked me to call the next day. Till 1 week we followed up with them and they finally told me that they cannot do it, I should get it done from outside.

A left side view mirror is a safety requirement apart from the fact that it helps in parking. My father is 73 years old and has back problems and has problems in parking because of the mirror. The salesman was aware of this fact and yet he did not tell us about it. I cannot imagine a company who is not ready to provide a standard safety measure for its cars.

I want to know what can I do in this matter??
