Hi, I including my family a total of 3 of us had taken a vacation to Kashmir for 7 days through may my trip and this trip became nightmarish. It was painful every day I would call the make my trip office but the only resolution that was given to me was someone would call and till date no one has called me. I have mailed my issue and requesting for refund put no one calls back or mails back. In fact the issue is that they did not follow the itinerary given this I should get a refund, to explain this further I am putting their itinerary down on this mail with the issues so that everyone knows what happened with me and my family and thus avoid this travel company.




I am writing this mail after a very disappointing tour which you’ll had booked for my family
I am elaborating my poor vacation in the below attached itinerary as my vacation was made a hellish experience by you pathetic management of the vacations
(Please read the below mail)……………………..
Itinerary:-
Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar
Board the flight to Srinagar. Arrive at the airport and experience our prompt transfer and check-in at the hotel . Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. The evening is reserved for a Shikara ride on the Dal Lake. ( on direct payment basis ). Stay overnight at the hotel in Srinagar.
– On pick-up from the airport we were told that the vehicle is only for the drop to hotel on inquiring about the Shikara ride he rejected us. On Inquiring with Masha Rajput she called up the travel agent who took us to dal lake for the shikara ride but all this occurred after 60 mins of talk time with Masha, not her fault but you processes were bad as you’ll did not inform the travel agent of the itinerary.
The Car refused to put on the AC as his vehicle did not have one running properly; as you can see from the itinerary we were supposed to have one (inclusions), in Srinagar the temperature was over 30 degrees. He refused from taking us to the restaurant after the Shikara ride and dropped us at the hotel, his excuse “ I am the owner just because I got a call from Make my trip and no driver is available I came but only for Shikara ride, go to the hotel, from tomorrow you’ll will have car at your disposal and you can enjoy the tour and car from then on”
When we reached the Hotel, it was in the middle of slums and garages of Srinagar and not a three star hotel; find attached the photos of the dust and mug. On talking to Masha she upgraded us to another room which was similar but called the VIP room, attached photos of dust in the room. Just FYI, I had a 2 year 8 month old son of mine with me who had to endure all this!
By now we were without food throughout the day with some snacks in the flight as the flight was 5 hrs with a stop over a Delhi, we asked for Dinner @19:00 IST and we were told that there is no food in the hotel as there is a party and the food and the gravy is for the party which is more or less over. I have attached the audio recording of the Hose keeping head, who was shown the dust in the afternoon and about the food and he acknowledges both the issues as proof the audio recording submitted to you in this mail (format “wave” from Nokia E 72 phone). So we and my 2 year old son slept hungry as the hotel refused to even bring in food from the outside.
Day 2:Srinagar to Gulmarg (2650 mts | 52 kms/ approx 2-3 hrs)
After breakfast, proceed to Gulmarg. Spend the day sightseeing the picturesque locales. One can take the exhilarating cable car ride to Khilanmarg or Apharwat Snow Point (Cable car ride and Pony ride are not included in the package means they are on direct payment basis ). Stay overnight at the hotel in Gulmarg.

– Travelled without AC till half the route it was very hot. Hotel was okay but the area where room was all other rooms were empty and wardrobes and Beds and other thing was out in the veranda. No complaints.
Day 3: Gulmarg to Pahalgam (2195 mts | 152 kms/ approx 5-6 hrs)
After breakfast, proceed to Pahalgam. On the way visit the Avantipur Ruins - the 1100 year old temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Check in at the hotel . Explore the market of Pahalgam at your own leisure and retreat to the warmth of the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel in Pahalgam.

– No complaints
Day 4: Pahalgam
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy an excursion to Chandanwari (3288mts) and Betaab Valley. Drive back to the hotel . Evening free for leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel and enjoy the serene Pahalgam.

– As we can see from the day 4 itinerary we were supposed to go to Chandanwari (3288mts) and Betaab Valley but driver refused saying that his car is not allowed to travel to these location and we were told to take a local cab about which I spoke with someone at make my trip (Tarun J) he mentioned that we should take the trip on our own and get the same reimbursed, we did travel on our own by spending Rs 1800/- to both the location but the same could have been taken care of by Make my trip or the travel agent as it’s not our responsibility if I am taking a package from you guys and its part of the iteneary. Very bad day as we go fleeced by the cab.

Day 5: Pahalgam to Srinagar (96kms/ approx 3hrs)
After breakfast, enjoy the drive to Srinagar and check-in to your Hotel. Visit the grand Mughal Gardens (Chashme Shahi, Nishat Bagh & Shalimar Bagh) and Shankaracharya Hill Temple. Enjoy shopping at Kashmiri craft & art stores. Stay overnight at the hotel in Srinagar.

– Travelled without AC very poor condition, temperatures were over 30 degrees

NO dinner, why because Ramzan started and driver refused to ply us anywhere after 18:00 IST, when we called you call center, the rep tried to convenience him but he refused. Now whose responsibility is it that the travelers at least get food? The house boat manager refused food / Dinner and also the driver did not take us anywhere after 18:00 IST. Are you guys not supposed to tell us not to travel during Ramzan if this is common? Your call center guys tried helping but he said its religious so I canot do anything. I have to keep my family hungry after paying Rs 72k. ON top of this the Shikara guy who takes us to the House boat asks for Shikra charges, which is absurd, if I live in a house boat then I won’t swim to it will I? when inquired, I was told that make my trip only Pays Rs 1500/- per day and thus the extra charges, if you would have paid Rs 3.5k the usual charges then you can come and go at least 3 times if not more. WHOSE PROBLEM IS THAT??
Day 6: Srinagar - Excursion to Sonmarg (2740 mts 82 kms/ 3 hours)
After early breakfast at the hotel, proceed on a day excursion to Sonmarg, the 'Meadow of Gold'. Enjoy a pony ride on the glacier (ponies can be hired directly on direct payment basis ). Stay overnight at the hotel in Srinagar.

– Travelled without AC very poor condition also no dinner some tea and biscuit the house boat manager made out of sympathy for the poor guys from Bombay who have been conned by make my Trip!!!!!!




At the end of it I demand that my fees be paid back to me (Rs 72k) as the whole experience was full of poor hotels, bad vehicles, ill-mannered travel managers and the experience was the poorest of all my all my travels.
While booking the vacation I had Ignored this but I would like to bring it up now…….. After the vacation experience. The tickets that were being bought for us were the most expensive, attached in the Mails folder which has the screen shots of Tickets from make my trip confirming that the tickets were only for Rs 34032/- this was doing the booking just 3 days (we paid over Rs 42 K thus paying Rs 8 k more) before departure, where in my request was confirmed and the booking could have been penciled by a travel agent such as Make my trip on 22nd which is when I had confirmed my booking.

Also I would like to put it on record that after selling the product/travel to me whenever I called Vinay on the direct or the office number he never picked up neither reverted when messages were taken either by Someone called Nikhil or the other call center agents all names in the below mail
Please consider this to be the first intimation to make my trip before I file the complaint with consumer forum Mumbai, I expect a revert from the concerned marked on this mail by 13th August 2011. Itinerary:-
