My name is Vishesh Chopra. I reside in New Delhi. I contacted Airtel for
a new ipTV connection at my residence on 19th July. On 20th July, Mr.
Amit (I.D. no.- DDSL45081) came to my residence for the necessary
documents (Photo I.D., address proof, and passport size photos) and a
cheque worth Rs. 1750 for registration (Cheque no. is 026396, addressed
to Bharti Airtel Pvt. Ltd.). I was assured by him that the connection
will be installed within a week. After 1 week I contacted him again,
regarding no service from Airtel. He told me there is some problem with
the Airtel connections in my area, hence it will take some time to
install it. After waiting for another week, I contacted him again. He
gave me the customer complaints number (011-44444198) and told me to
register a complaint with Airtel. I did that and was given a complaint
no. 1495908. The customer care representative told me that the complaint
will be handled by 8th August. But no one contacted me. On 8th August, I
contacted customer care again and was told that software up-gradation
was going on, which was the cause of the delay. They told me that the
request would be handled by 10th August, and gave me a new complaint no.
49155560. Once again, no one contacted me. On 16th August, I sent an E-mail
to airtelpresence@airtel.in, and was reassured that my request will be processed soon.
It has been 10 days since the reply, and no one has contacted me. If this goes on, I will take Airtel to court with charges of customer harassment and denial of service post full payment of service requested, and that too personally.
