Hi,
My Savings bank account has been frozen by ICICI , saying that i have not made credit card payment for four years.
ICICI is saying that I have a credit card ending with 8009 while i never have received any such card. after endless painful hours on phone with ICICI customer care the card is placed on dispute.
However, some one from the dispute section showed me the application , which must be an application i have applied in 2006 however to my horror, the address, telephone number and even the employment details are all phony. I have informed this to the Dispute team and also have asked them why I have not been informed of this , while I have a salary account With ICICI since 2007. there was no response for that.
I asked them to show the card delivery POD mentioning that the signatures will not match and they say they cannot do that.
At this moment they are asking me to give a police complaint but the police are refusing to take a complaint stating that since I have never received a card, this is some thing I need to deal with the bank.
Also please note that I have changed my job and moved to Bangalore in between so the police are also saying that any issue should only be taken in Chennai, where I was during 2006-2007.
Please let me know I should proceed.
given that I have never received the card and never used it, but some one definitely did use it fraudulently.
should i go and file with banking ombudsman or should I just file a court case.
