I have been booking tatkal tickets for a long time.I could see for the past 15 days or so it is almost impossible to book a genuine tatkal ticket. Here are some of my observations.By 8:00 am the site is super slow. So if it is slow that should be the case for all the people who are trying to login.But the point here is that by 8:05 am all the tickets are in wl/1.I have checked it now continuously for a couple of days that all sl 3a and 2a tatkal tickets come to wl/1 at 8:05 am whatever be the number of tickets in each quota. How can this happen if it were not planned before. Ideally if such high contention is there, wl should be well above wl/1 cause there are a lot of sessions live and some people(not just one ) would definitely get higher waitlisted tickets. Therefore this makes me believe that there is a fraud or some kind of a nexus which takes away all the tatkal tickets within 5 minutes.
The solution to this is very simple just check the tatkal tickets for a train from the people on a given day for which we know all the tickets were booked within 5 min. By checking we would get to know the time of booking and the transaction ID from which they were booked if all the transaction IDs(or are contiguous ) and the time is same it means there is a big fraud going on. We can get the information for those tickets under RTI , and also track the IPs of the ticket bookers. This will definitely lead us to a pattern and definitely to the people who are benefitting from this kind of an act.
