I am a single working professional, living alone on rent.
I had recently taken a new mobile phone connection from Airtel. At the time of taking the connection, i informed them that I would be present for address verification only on Saturday. However, the verification agent came on some other day and my phone was barred. I went to the Airtel shop and complained, and they said they would reactivcate the service. Nothing happened. I called the helpline twice and it finally got activated. Then again for the reverification, The agent came during the week in the afternoon, and IO wasn't there, so my phone got barred again ( this was on Thursday 25 July 2011) , the next day I went to the airtel store again (at peninsula corporate park) and complained and they said, they would ask for the agent to come on Saturday. On Saturday, the agent didn't come and my phone has been barred since then. Today (Monday 1 August) when I called the Airtel Helpline, they said my verification had failed completely and I would not be able to use this number.
What more could I do? After telling them repeatedly to come on saturday, they come whenever they feel like and file a report saying verification failed.
