Default Reliance Netconnect Harrassment & illegal information sourcing from other telecoms

I have been harassed by Reliance netconnect on a payment issue after requesting disconnection of services. The payment issue has been going on for many months (since November 2010), but today they did the most illegal act of all.

Today, Reliance started calling my colleagues and family and started asking them to do the payment on my behalf. This is a serious issue. Somebody at my cellphone operator has leaked my personal details. Some of my colleagues started getting calls from Reliance asking them to make the payment on my behalf!! I want action taken against Reliance. I plan to take my cell-phone operator also to the court after discussions with them and I am currently talking to them.

    Details of the Problem:

In 2010 August, I had requested to disconnect by Reliance broadband connection, I had repeated the request by calling up the customer-support and also going to the shop where I had purchased twice. I had also taken the datacard to the shop, so that they can see the device number, however, Reliance did not disconnect my connection as I didnt have any original papers, which I told them I could not find. (For August 2010, the payment was done.)

By October, I started getting payment reminder. I called them and said I had requested for disconnection. Again this was not processed, by November, I had two rental bills. After August, I have not used the USB device. I email-ed the customer service that I will not be paying as I had requested to disconnect and to check their records. (complaint number at Reliance: 'ADAG=007-268-614' RE:'ADAG=007-261-242' Disconnect Request NOT Processed)

They came back saying that I did not give an written record - so they cannot disconnect until I pay. Since then they have been harassing, its almost a year. Recently they are asking me to pay atleast "half the due amount". I refused to do so and asked them that if I actually owe Reliance any money, why would they let me go with half payment. Instead the harassment became abusive and vulgar. Then they said they will send me the court order, and I asked them not to call me, and I will appear at the court instead.

In May 2011, I got a call saying that it was police from R T Nagar station in Bangalore. He insisted that I settle amicably with Reliance. I told him all the issues and suggested that I am going to the court. Then I suggested I will come to police station, he said that is not necessary, but will suggest Relaince coming to my home. I refused and insisted in visiting the station in day time. He said he will get back to me later. So, I called up the R T Nagar police station and they said there was nobody as the said person and I gave them the number.

So, I want Reliance to stop harassing me and also want to take legal action against Reliance for illegally accessing my personal information and troubling my family, colleagues and friends. Its a terrible privacy intrusion issue and I want action to be taken.

    Please help,

    Reshmi

I have some issues with Relicance to:

I recently purchased Reliance data card for internet service.
Before purchasing when I specifically informed about the area I will be using Reliance connection also asked the sales representative (who called me for the data card) about the download speed and not the browsing speed, I was told that the downloading speed would be minimum 500kbps and the surfing speed will be minimum 1.2 Mbps and upto 3.1 Mbps
But I am not getting the download speed of more than 35-40kbps.
When I called the customer care I was told that I will not get the download speed more than 150kbps at any time.
I did the speed test as told by the customer care and during the test also the surfing speed was around 300kbps and the download speed was 20kbps.
When I called several times to lodge a complaint but could not get any satisfactory reply, I was given the contact details of their Nodal officer. I even called him and then I was told that there is a congestion in my area and there is not estimated time as to when it will be rectified.
    I have been informed wrongly.
Even on the reliance website it is informed that the activation will be immediate but actually it took almost a week for activating my account.
The koregaon park executive who gave me the data card was not answering my calls.
Kindly help me in this issue.
