I got a new Airtel 3G post paid plan (750rs) on 8th of March 2011. I purchased the 3G USB modem separately from Airtel, which works only for Airtel sim card.
I would like to raise a complaint of my Airtel 3G post paid connection bill. I had got airtel 3g connection activated on March 18th 2011 late evening(though i got the device/sim on 8th March!) and the connection was active only until 20th March 2011. It was hardly active for 2 days (and then it was deactivated from 20th March 2011 afternoon due to verification failure), and for the same i got two bills (1) around 350 , and i was surprised to see (2) bill amount of 6500.
When i raised a concern with Airtel officials at Indira Nagar relationship center, I was told there is some problem with the billing system and to ignore it. I am really very much worried with Airtel service, also with the bill for unused days and that too 6500rs for short span of usage with no downloads only, which i have never seen in my 10 yrs of experience in IT with any other service provider.
Anyone will not be able to digest this situation and pay 6500 without any usage.
I was asked to raise a escalation with Airtel Nodal Office, and the get problem solved. But there is no response even after sending repeated mails.
On checking about Airtel 3G service in the web, I found the many links. I got to understand that there are many cases similar to mine.
From the those links, when these type of escalations were made, there was no proper response from Airtel. In addition Airtel was claiming that the bill was correct. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand how come the bill amount was 6500rs for using only 2 days of service.
In addition to my complaint regarding excessive bill amount, I would like to add few more facts:

Also I have asked for the following clarification from Airtel, for which I didn't get any response.
1) My 3G plan is Rs750 with a limit of 2GB of free data as per plan. But in my Bill, it shows that I have used only 776042 kbytes. Can you let me know how you can charge rs.11643.60 out of which you have discounted only rs.6088.53. But since this data is within 2GB data limit, I am eligible to get discount on full amount (rs.11643.60)
2) In my Bill, there is a discount amount of rs.6088.53/-, I need to know from where you arrived to this figure?
I demand an explanation for my above queries. I dont want to waste my time admist my busy work schedule, just for taking Airtel 3G connection. I expect a prompt reply as soon as possible.
I have raised my concerns many times before, unfortunately, there was no proper response.
