Tata Photon - Activation Issue / Ref: Tata Indicom number 9243339276 1. When I wanted to buy this connection, all what the sales guy told me was, you have to pay 1700 cash, a copy of address/ID proof and a photo to get INSTANT Activation. I agreed to this and called the chap to my home and got it activated. Please note that I've given the copy of my passport (to serve as proof to my permanent address and photo ID) and my mobile bill original (to serve as local address proof), and a photograph. The information which was hidden to me was, this so called INSTANT activation is only good for 2 hours and you need to do some Reference Check (this wasn't informed during sales). I had to give a reference, and before all your initial processes were over, I'd lost connectivity for good few hours. (YOU NEED TO EXPLAIN WHAT INSTANT ACTIVATION MEANS)
2. About a week back someone from Tata called me and said, "Sir!, I'm near your house and wanted to meet you for address verification!" I was not aware that someone is going to visit my place and secondly if that be the case, he should have checked with me over phone to understand the time I'd be available there. I'd told him I was at office then and if he wanted to come he should come after 6:00 PM. All what he said was, 'No problem Sir, we'll take care of it' (NO CLUE WHAT HE WANTED TO TAKE CARE OF)
3. Very surprisingly last Saturday mid night onwards my connection (which I bought only a couple of weeks back) was disconnected without any intimation and when I enquired about this on Sunday morning, all I received was a ridiculous communication that, 'Your connection is disconnected because address verification failed' I'd to literally plead to one Mr. Premnath (Floor Supervisor) who was vehemently aggressive and rude on call (inspite of me telling him repeatedly that I'd to work from home on that day and having trusted Photon I wasn't prepared to go to office) - all I got as a response was in the tone of - Do what you can! Nobody is around here to take decision and you may have to call back tomorrow! (IF NOONE IS THERE TO TAKE DECISION ON SUNDAY, HOW CAN YOU DISCONNECT A CUSTOMER'S CONNECTION ON SUNDAY - AND WHAT PATHETIC SUPERVISOR YOU HAVE ONBOARD)
4. Another rep from Tata called me yesterday with a polite opening, 'Sir! did you get your welcome letter?' (I'd earlier tried answering call from that same number from which he called, in vain and I wish to callback, it's designed not to accept incoming). Nevertheless, I had to explain him all my issues, for which he gave me some nodal officer Rao number. That number was busy for almost 200 times that I tried and an automatic voice was re-directing me to call customer care (where I had this bad experience already) His supervisor called me later, once again I'd to explain all my issues and he said 'Sir! you may have to re-submit all your documents and I'll try to take a request' - THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, WHERE ARE THE DOCUMENTS THAT I GAVE YOU EARLIER COUPLE OF WEEKS BACK - THEY ARE MY PASSPORT AND ADDRESS PROOF LETTERS AND DID YOU MISS THEM - ANY CASE I DO NOT WISH TO GIVE THESE PAPERS AGAIN) - Your representative had already come to my house and he connected the device to my laptop - I'd called your customer care dept, your folks have called me -- In addition to all these, I've given a copy of my passport which is issued by the order of President of India. If you guys do wish to verify the credibility of that again and again - either you are following a highly incompetent process - or you had a process failure and some of your executive had screwed up somewhere. In any case, its a big process failure on your part and you cannot make a customer (who just paid you 1700 Rs) suffer by having delivered a dead stick.
4. I'm writing this agonizing experience to you on Thursday morning (which is almost 96 hours since my connection is disconnected)
