I purchased an HP laptop for Rs.40111 in the first week of March 2011 but it was faulty.I called customer care to get an appointment for a technician at my place as I had on-site warranty activated but representative said that they only send technicians for hardware issues and I need to go through steps over the phone with them . When I said that I am not tech savvy and don't know much of how to operate the laptop, they said that I still need to go through the steps otherwise they will not send a technician. After so many efforts, I was able to get an appointment fixed for a technician visit. I tried getting it fixed several times with the help of HP technicians but they were not able to resolve the problem. The laptop is a problem from the very first day. I tried getting it replaced so many times before but the branch manager of HP (Amit Goel) and sales manager (Samrendra) asked for chance to get it fixed. When I got tired of giving them chances, I asked for a replacement again which they approved after almost 2 months of my purchase that also when I said that I will approach consumer court. When I went to the dealer from whom I purchased the laptop (Jumbo Electronics at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon) on May 6, 2011, the store manager (Harpreet Lamba) started showing me attitude and he said he was doing me a favor by getting it replaced. He said that the same laptop model was not available and I need to wait for a couple of days to get the new laptop. Also, he refused to get it delivered at my home as he said that have to do so many deliveries for their new customers which means that once you become a consumer, you are nothing for them. Also, he mentioned that if I want the laptop on the same day, I can take any other model. I selected a laptop of Rs. 38000 and he refused me to return the balance. he said that I can take any other thing from his shop. I fail to understand why would I take any other thing that I don't want to purchase. I selected another laptop of Rs45000 and both HP sales manager and store keeper asked me to pay the difference. Why should I pay the difference when they were at fault, they lacked the same model of laptop. The HP sales manager should have intimated the dealer himself in advance so that he could have arranged the laptop. If the dealer was out of stock then I am no where responsible to pay the difference in the amount. I have so many reasons for dissatisfaction from HP's end and rude and obscene behavior by the store manager of Jumbo. Please help me know how can I file consumer complaint against them. It's already two months that I have not used the new laptop.
There are many other things that I as a consumer suffered in these two months and will like a compensation for the same.
Please guide me the right route.
