I had an urgent requirement for the PAN card and I had applied for a new PAN card for my wife through BAJAJ CAPITAL on 31-MAR-2011. Here are the details:

The necessary documents were submitted at the Malviya Nagar/Shivalik office and the person we spoke to was Deepak.
On form submission we were told that the whole process will take about 15 days and within this duration I would get the PAN card though post mail. I was also asked to call
up the next day to get the COUPON number for the application, as it would help me in locating the progress of the PAN card. There was a delay in dispatching application and hence
after lot of pushing I was finally given the coupon number on 2-APR-2011 when he called up from the telephone # 011-64736907. Now, today, 4-APR-2011, when I tried checking out the status of the application
through the coupon number, the website showed that the PAN card application had still not been processed. When I spoke to Deepak, informing of the same, with a lot of hesitation
he asked me to contact the BAJAJ CAPITAL's Nehru Place office at the telephone # 011-66161111, since he did not have any details about the processing procedure. When I contacted the BAJAJ CAPITAL's Nehru place office, after a lot of IVR navigation finally the call was transferred to the PAN card dept., where Mr. Sunil attended the call. He seemed to be in a lot of hurry and when I enquired about the status, he asked me
as to when was the application submitted. I told him that it was done last week (31-MAR-2011), he instantly responded that it will take a month. I was surprised to hear this, as it is widely know that it takes 15 days to get you PAN card done.
Also, we were assured by Deepak of the same. When I re-confirmed with Sunil and told him of what was told to me by Deepak, he backtracked and said that since you had submitted the application last week it will take 25 days for processing. He then cut me short
and rudely hung up the phone. When I dialled again, the operator Ms. Manpreet told me that the call would not be completed as there is no one in the PAN card dept., they had gone for lunch.

I have always found false deadlines, rude behaviour and lack of ownership while dealing with Govt offices, but never thought I would face the same with a private major like BAJAJ CAPITAL. If I wanted the same lazy response I would have directly dealt with the Govt office in charge of the PAN cards. I have an urgent requirement and this is what lead me to a reputed name like BAJAJ CAPITAL. I am not sure if I will be able to get my card on time or not.
