Default HDFC bank Credit Card Settlement

    Dear Sir,

This is in regard to a registered letter (A D41) Irecieved from HDFC bank Chennai.
Letter says that bank has blocked my saving account (00921140024569) because of outstanding on my credit card no. 4346781002738748.

I would like to draw your attention towards the core issue because of what they claim that I have defaulted. Actually I was a customer of HDFC credit card previously and there was an outstanding of around Rs. 41,000 on that account. I was continuously requesting the Bank’s collection team to close the account on which they were continuously charging me some money that you need to pay this much to get the account into closure mode which I kept on paying for good 4 – 5 months when they were not issuing the letter I wrote to “Consumer Coordination Council” on their website via complaints number - 5878/1/2009 date 11th May 2009 and 5425/1/2009 dated 27 October 2009.

In these complaints I was ready to pay more than what they were asking i.e. outstanding Rs. 41,000 payment being promised to pay 2000 x 24 = Rs. 48000. I got a call from the bank that on papers we do not have a procedure to offer 24 installments what we can offer is that you little less than your total outstanding i.e. Rs. 33,300 in lesser installments ranging between 1900 – 2500 but on paper we will give you the settlement letter as per official procedure. This deal was offered to me because I used intervention of Consumer Coordination Council.

As per our agreement I kept on paying installments (I have cleared approx Rs. 31,500 in various installments they took from me) and when they called last month to collect the payment I asked for the No dues letter and final installment amount as I was confused that whether it is 1300 or 1500 which is pending. This caller told me which no dues letter which Consumer Coordination Council and I am liable to pay 52713.39 or I will face the consequences.

I am not just feeling cheated but also not in a financial position to settle this amount which has been accumulated upon me. Request you to kindly intervene. I am still ready to clear out 41000 of the bank permitted they consider my past payments and take pending amount in installments.
Request you to kindly help me to clear out this issue.

    Regards,

Default Want to settle the HDFC credit card dues

    Hi,

I am Sreekanth Reddy holding Credit Card #- XXXX-XXXX-XXX0-8367. I have spent Rs.54000 on my card. So far, I have paid Rs.38680/-to collection agents on monthly basis for last 12 months. Due to my personnel financial problems, I could not pay the amount from last 2 months. Now, Bank has issued a legal notice to pay nearly Rs.98000/-. I am unable to pay this amount and asked for settlement.

Now, they are saying that I need to pay Rs.68900/- in 2 installments. I am unable to pay this amount. I am ready to pay it in single shot. I need to pay only Rs.18559/-. But, Bank has put all financial and late payment charges worth Rs.80000/-. This is not fair and illegal.

Please help me with settlement. I can pay only Rs. 30000/- ( legal interest)

Question Converting outstanding amount into emi

    CONVERTING OUTSTANDING AMOUNT INTO EMI
    Sir,

This mail is in respect to the Credit card. I have been using this card since last 8 years and after Every 2 year I used to convert my outstanding to EMI@1.75%, but since last 2 year is facing severe issue to pay off the debts. Every month i have been depositing the minimum amount, and still the amount does not seems to be reduced as because the finance charges @3.25% is applicable thoroughly on the card. This has resulted in the accumulation of the debt to an amount of Rs 2,20,000 as of today. I called up the customer care, for conversion of the outsanding into EMI every so that it would be a ease for me, and also the late charges does not gets applicable.

However, I query the executives every 3 month from April, 2013 replied that EMI conversion comes as an offer and presently the HDFC card does not have the offer. I am financially broken down presently and i really expect a helping hand to sort it out.

Please recommend procedure to convert the outstanding amount to EMI so that it's a ease to pay the amount Else will prefer one time settlement, looking forward for a positive response.

    Regard
