Dear Sir,

I have purchased a "TATA Swach Nanotech Water Purifier" (Product Sl. No. 20100710689) for Rs. 999/- from Satender Traders at Najafgarh on 28/08/2010. A bill for the same was asked; however, it was told that it is not must as he would stamp the Warranty Card. It was repeatedly asked before making the payment whether all the spares and bulb would be available and it was confirmed in affirmative by the dealer.

You may kindly note that the Bulb (filter) has the capacity of 3000 Litres and stops working after that. Accordingly, it stopped working in the last week of December 2010. I went to the ibid dealer to get the new bulb; however, was told that the bulb is out of stock and would be available within 2 days. Thereafter, I visited the shop at regular intervals; however, till date the bulb is not available. Lastly, I got the bulb from another dealer at Najafgarh on 29/01/2011 after 3 visits to that shop as well.

Now, I faced few problems in trying to install the new bulb and tried to contact the Toll Free Helpline (18002585858); however, "the services to this number are temporarily not available" as per the IVR. When I went to the ibid dealer with this problem, he said he would convey this to the concerned person in the company after 2 days. When I objected to this and told that I would approach the Consumer Court for this, I was told "Ukhaar lo jo ukhaar sakte ho" in addition to some other heated and unparliamentary language.

It is my earnest submission that such defaulters should be dealt with severely and penalized accordingly. They should not be taking the "Law of Justice" as granted.

Yours sincerely,
