    Angry Defrauded by airtel in life time prepaid connection in kolkata.

    Honourable Jury Members of consumer court, I am writing this complaint letter regarding a defrauding case of Airtel mobile life time prepaid connection no- 98311 64880. I am explaining here how airtel cheated their customer & unfortunately there is no people to listen your complaint in Bharti Airtel authority.


    I had a Life Time prepaid connection of Airtel mobile in Kolkata, which no was – 98311 64880 , this connection has been taken when Airtel launched their Life Time prepaid sim 1st in Kolkata at Rs.999/- (Nine hundred ninety-nine only) . When they launched their new life time prepaid connection they did not put any terms & condition about those customer who are using this life time prepaid at Rs.999/-.There was no mandatory recharge criteria applicable in this connection. Honestly telling that I was very happy with airtel connection with their network coverage. Simultaneously Hutch (now Vodafone) & Tata Indicom cdma launched their own life time prepaid in same price of Rs.999/- . The criteria was in hutch is customer should recharge Rs.10/- (ten only) in every 6 months & in Tata Indicom is same as airtel no mandatory recharge in every 6/3/12 months. Just use their sim until finished their licence period in Kolkata.

    Many time I called to customer care before deactivated my line to know about anything recharge in Life time prepaid (Rs.999/-).They told & assured me that there is nothing about recharge in my mobile no.9831164880.

    After 1 year suddenly my mobile has been stolen & I recollect a new sim card in same no.9831164880 from Airtel “Park Street” office,Kolkata with submitted exiting & valid documents.However due to unavailability of new handset I was unable to use the new sim till 3 months.After 3 months when I insert the sim card into my mobile I saw there was blocked all outgoing & incoming in my no.I contacted immediately to customer care at-121.They told me that contact immediately in their office at “Shyam Bazaar”, I did the same but Shyam Bazaar people forward me their main office at Park Street.

    When I visited the Park Street Airtel office with my concern I had a new worst experience of airtel customer care.They don’t know how to talk to a gentlemen how to give a service to a valuable customer.However when I told them everything they replied me that my connection was terminated due to no recharge of Rs.200/- in every 6 months.And I don’t get this no anymore, the line is totally deactivated & if I want a new life time connection then should buy a new sim at Rs.250/-. When I told them that I am a life time prepaid customer of Rs.999/- & there was no rules of Trai or airtel to mandatory recharge in every 6 months,but they don’t listen anything regarding this matter & told their decision will be final regarding my matter.I asked them about their higher authority I wanted to visit immediately regarding this matter, because they deactivated my no.9831164880 illegally.

    Why should I recharge a Rs.200/- in every 6 months when I took this connection at Rs.999/-.The mandatory recharge is applicable on which customer those were bought the life time prepaid at Rs.250/- . There is around Rs.70/- into my balance.I wanted to submit a complaint letter to them but they are simply deny to accept any complaint regarding this matter.

    The airtel customer care of Park Street did not give me my no back or took any complaint regarding this matter. Neither they give me anything about their higher authority.

    Then after many months later I find their (airtel) nodal cell email id from this Consumer court.I emailed them on- 8/9/2010 about this matter,but nodal cell also just don’t read my email & replied a systematic reply. I quoted their email in given below.

    “ Dear Papia Banerjee,

    Thank you for contacting Airtel.

    We understand from your previous interaction dated 08 Sep 2010, you have expressed concern over disconnection for your airtel number 9831164880.

    We regret the inconvenience caused to you.

    We have been trying to contact you. Unfortunately, due to non availability of any alternate number, we have been unsuccessful with our attempts to reach you. However,as per your complaint we have checked our records and found that the above connection has been permanently disconnected due to non usage with in 90 days .So we regret our infeasibility to reactivate it.

    In future too please feel free to speak to our call center executive on 121 regarding any issue concern. You can also email us at 121@airtelindia.com.

    You can get in touch with the Nodal Officer with your earlier request or complaint number if it is still unresolved. You may send an email at nodalofficer.wb@airtel.in. or you may call at 9831234865 from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM Monday to Friday. The Nodal officer will provide a resolution to your complaint in 10 days.

    If you do not receive a satisfactory response from Nodal officer you may send an email at appellate.wb@airtel.in. or you may call at 9831844865 from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM Monday to Friday.

    Dear Sir,

    I had a life time connection of Airtel.Mobile no was- 9831164880.This no has
    been taken when Airtel launched "life time" connection first time at Rs.999/-
    in Kolkata.I was very happy with your service.The policy was for this
    connection is no mandatory recharge in every 6 months or nothing.Around after
    1 year suddenly my mobile has been stolen & I recollected a new sim card from
    your airtel office at Park Street.

    I did not used the connection around 3 months due to unavailability of new
    handset of mobile to me.But after 3 months when I insert the sim into handset,
    there was no call possible from my no after a week due to sim card
    unregistered, after few more days later my no was totally deactivated.

    I contacted immediately with your customer care at 121 they suggested me to
    contact at Symbazar office.Symbazar forwarded me to Park Steet office.When I
    visited in park steet office I was surprised to their service after listened
    my all details they told me that my no is deactivated due to no recharge has
    been made during 6 months.I told them that when I took this connection there
    is no rules or policy about mandatory recharge in every 6 months.But they
    replied me very roudly that if I want a connnection then I had to take another
    new sim card with another different no with extra charges.But I was not agreed
    with them & wanted to submit a complaint against this issue.But they are also
    denied to accept my complaint.Even I asked them that give me a higher
    authority contact no.They told me their decision will be final about any
    complaint.

    Sir, I feel very cheated, because my connection was terminated without any
    valid reason.Airtel park street people did not help me even they misguded me.I
    have got your contact details from Consumer Court that's why I can able to
    describe you all things.I request you that please give me my life time
    connection back as old policy (no mandatory recharge in every 6 months).My all
    details is given below.

    Dear jury member of consumer court you can see clearly that how Airtel defrauded me,how they deactivated my line illegally.I am writing this complaint in here not because of Just Rs.70/- was in my balance, not because of their rudely reply or no co-operation about reactive my line, the main reason of Principle, commitment to customer and dignity.

    Airtel cross all limit.Dear All jury member I want justice from you regarding this matter.Airtel simply don’t do this to any customer,I don’t want that any other people or person defrauded like me.So please take some immediate action regarding this matter.
