I am Saravana Kumar V bearing the mobile number 9790995663. I am a Banglorean, working in a call centre earning 10000 in chennai. I come before you to lodge a complaint against Airtel Mobile Services for harrasing me mentally & spoiling my reputation. I bought this connection few months back & was using it till i met with an accident(November) & lost the phone along with the sim. I was hospitalised for more than a month, i under went a surgery where they have placed a bone in my left forearm taking it from the hip(palen bone). I came back to Chennai & Due to the illness, couldn't go anywhere to get the duplicate sim card. Right now i am using my friend's Sim for office use. I got a call on the current number from Airtel stating there is outstanding amount on the above mentioned number, which i agreed to pay in 2 months time as my financial status is extremely bad. She agreed & soon a day later a person from Airtel came to my house at 08:00 AM when i was sleeping. I again explained him everything & he went away agreeing to it. Again, the next day another person from Airtel called me & forced me to pay the bill immediately. Again i had to explain him everything & i told him that i have only Rs.1000 for the expenses for the month. He did not agree to it & kept on forcing me to pay immediately & he warned me that he would keep on pestering me till I make the payment. I requested him to give me atleast a month's time but he did not give a ear to it and neglected my words. Today(13-Jan) i got a call from a person from Airtel called Prakash(Ph No. +918754403018), who spoke to me very harshly, threatening me to pay the bill. He was not professional and decent enough on the call and used unparliamentary words to me. I again explained him about my health condition & financial status, but he exceeded his limits by pulling in my family to make the payment, which I feel is way beyond his powers to question me on the same. I did tell him that i spent around 2lacs for the surgery & lost 2 months pay as well. He raised his voice in a very demanding and harrassing way, stating when i can pay 2lacs for the surgery why can't i pay the bill of 4000.
Airtel has taken all my official contacts & have called my managers & colleagues asking them about my bill payment, which made me lose my respect, dignity and the image that I have in my office. Most of the colleagues are getting raged, disturbed and frustrated as they are receiving many calls regarding this and they inturn are asking me to stop the same as quickly as possible. When i am available on the phone & at my residence, I really don't feel this is required. I am very much disturbed mentally, harrassed and frustrated with the services offered by Airtel.
I request the Consumer Court to intervene and help me in getting this fixed as I am tortured, harrassed on a daily basis which in turn is taking a toll on my health as well.
