Dear citizens,

I wish to inform you that on 01 January 2011, I was approached by a sales representative from M/s APPCO Marketing (India) Pvt Ltd who is the direct business associate of Reliance Big TV.

His identified himself as Mr Damresh kumar Reddy( Mobile:-9703434632) with his colleague Venkatramana (Mobile 8341308535)

1. He told that Big TV is offering special price for specfic customers. The customer should be having a cheque leaf ending with 29 or 31. (being high value transaction customers)

2. If the customer satisfies this condition, he would receive reliance Big TV connection worth Rs 2950 with another Dish connection free and that we would receive 3 month free gold pack subscription.

3. In addition to that he told if we opt for a Parent & Child pack, after the three month period one would need to pay just Rs 135 for the parent connection and 50% of it for the child connection to get the entire list of channels

4. When asked to show the list of channels available, he said he don’t have the list with him & that one would be receiving entire set of channels except Cartoon Network & CNN IBN

5. He told us that we would receive more channels than the local cable TV network (Which I was using earlier, charge just Rs 125 & used to get most of the channels), by just paying Rs.135 per month.

To my misfortune, my HDFC Cheque leaf ended with 29. , I subscribed for reliance Big TV for one parent and six child connections for our entire building. I paid Rs. 10430.00 against my family and well wisher’s advice. They installed three set top boxes within one week, and handed over the other set top boxes to me without installing.

We are not getting most of the channels that we are getting from the local Cable TV network especially in the Tamil and Telugu.

I tried to contact Mr. Arumugam (Senior Manager APPCO), but his phone is always switched off. May be I was given a Dummy number.

I called customer care and they said that that the Gold pack is around Rs. 248.00 and not Rs. 135 as told by the APPCO representative and asked me to write to nodalofficer@bigtv.co.in . I started calling Mr Damreshwar (Sale Person) who tried to feign ignorance. He did give another number and one Mr Misra who identified himself as manager agreed to take back all the set top boxes.

I called customer care on 08-01-2011 and spoke with Ms Nilaveni. After listening to my complaints, and on my request transferred the call to Ramesh technical agent who said that they are not supposed to give six connections in the way they have done. He also lodged a complaint against APPCO for providing false information" and has given a complaint no 144629797

On my persistence, he gave a Distributor’s address Akshya communication,New Nallakunta 2-2-1149/1 Hyderabad. Who will guide me to surrender the connections? Surprisingly he said that he did not have the telephone number of the distributor, whereas he cross checks my mobile number and asks for alternate number before listening to my complaint/query, each time I call them.

I received a SMS on my mobile around 6PM on 10-1-2001, saying that "the complaint# 144629797 has been closed and the matter has resolved to my satisfaction"

No one from Big TV has spoken to me and hence resolving to my satisfaction does not arise. Therefore closing the complaint without consulting me is not acceptable.

Then I called the Customer care on the 10th Jan 2011. Mr Sanjay received the call and then transferred the call to Mr. Narender from technical dept. He said that he will transfer to his superiors I was made to wait for over 55 minutes and finally I disconnected the call and called them again.

Mr. Rajesh came on the line and when informed about the earlier call he said he has no information implying that I was giving him false information. His tone and tenor showed he wants to browbeat tried to defend the APPCO marketing but could not succeed and after another 20 minutes.transferred the call to Mr. Ravi.

He said that he will raise the complaint against the APPCO Marketting for the all connections , but refused to register my demand for a refund aftertaking back all the connections, saying the amount cannot be refunded. The complaint number given is 144752922

Big TV cannot employ bogus marketing groups to give false and sky high freebies to sell a connection and then say they cannot refund the amount. They can’t kill the market in this fashion.

"It's time to think Big", says their slogan but their ways?????.

I request Big TV to take back all the connections and return back the money (Rs. 10430) in addition to Rs. 700 taken for installation charges.

I understand that APPCO in the past four months has done like this in most of the cases, and many go unreported due to lack of public knowledge.

I call upon the Big TV to take stringent action against APPCO Marketing (India) Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad and market their products in a fair and open manner.
