I was issued a credit card by Standard Chartered Bank about 10-12 years back, which was paid up fully barring an amount of Rs. 1200-1400, which was outstanding. I was told that since the card has been deactivated somebody will come over to collect the final payment.
The person who turned-up didn't had proper identity and contact numbers of service center so that i could give the cash to him. I had sent the fax to Standard chartered head-office in bangalore stating the scenario and requesting them to send another person with proper identity. No body turned up and i received no communications in last 10-12 years.
To my surprise, when i applied for a OD facility from some other bank, i was told that an amount against this credit card still pending on my part and to my shock this has risen to Rs. 42,000/-. Not only that it has spoilt my credit history.
I donot have any details of the card(not even its number), with me and donot know how to proceed further.
Please help.
