I had purchased one Sony Ericsson T700 on 24th January 2009 from a dealer in Kolkata. The set started giving problems since the very first day, e,g, the cameras stopped functioning, the address books were erased, the call lists became empty etc. In fact, al the functionalities started giving problems. I took the set to the local service centre which advised only software upgrades. Despite upgrading the software for more than four times now (by paying for it also, after the warranty period), the problems persist. In fact the phone is now totally defunct and is no more than a showpiece.
I wrote letters to the Delhi head office, by registered post, which was acknowledged. No reply was received. The letter addressed to the local Kolkata office was not even accepted.
I now want to file a complaint in this Court, for the mental harassment suffered by me since the last 2 years or so. I want a replacement of the handset or full refund of whatever I have spent on the phone. The total amount spent by me is approximately Rs. 13,000/-. I will accept whatever compensation is additionally approved y the honourable Court for the mental agonies suffered.
