My son himanshu khular is studying b.tech(e&c) at bbdnitm lucknow and uses sbi debit card issued by sbi gadepan(cfcl complex)325208 kota rajasthan.on 16/11/2010 when he could not withdraw money from his college atm,he went to atm of idbi bank bhootnath lucknow for same.unfortunately his atm card got stuckup in the machine.when he approached the bank manager of the dealing bank,he was informed that as per rbi guidelines card cannot be returned back and it will be destroyed and sent to atm cell setup by govt of india.when i approached my sbi branch from where the card was issued in gadepan kota,they are not aware of any such guidelines & they are following the practice of returning the card after verification of identity.
Please guide me so that confiscated debit cum atm card of my son can be retrieved back
