    Default Harrassment by AIRTEL after cancellation of broadbband and Landline connection

    To The Consumer Court,

    I used AIRTEL broadband connection (AIRTEL LandLine No. 02240152720) for 5 months in Powai, Mumbai and cleared all the bills on time. But after 5 months I had shift from my Powai, Mumbai Address to Dadar, Mumbai address. So I inquired with AIRTEL if I can shift my connection to Dadar, Mumbai. But the customer care said that, they do not have their services in Dadar. So I decided to cancel my AIRTEL broadband and landline connection. And accordingly gave a mail on 16 January 2010 to cancel my both (Broadband and landline) the connection. I received a confirmation saying that my cancellation has been raised on 19 January 2010, from an AIRTEL official, Mr. Belden D'Cruz with a FTN No. assigned to my cancellation request . Before cancellation I cleared all the bills till December 2009 as I shifted to new address in January.

    After 6 months, i.e in the month of August, suddenly I received a legal Notice from AIRTEL, Delhi office saying that Amount of Rs. 2980/- is pending on my accout and if I fail to clear this amout, they will take legal action. Since it was a legal notice, I gave an answer explaining the complete situation with all the prints of mail communications till date. During these 6 months many AIRTEL officials asked me to change my decision of cancellation of AIRTEL broadband and Landline connection.

    After this notice, i tried to contact AIRTEL CC representative (Interaction Id: 1624951, Name: Mohammad Anjum, Location: Mumbai) and asked for the details of this pending amount. But he could provide me the details. On other hand he said that the details are not available. Today, I received another call from AIRTEL Delhi, asking me to change my decision. Once again I repeated my story to that person and asked for the details of outstanding amount. But he kept me on hold and dropped the call.

    Can anybody provide me the solution to this issue ?

    Such harassment of customers will ultimately result in closure of AIRTEL (I am using very soft language.)

    I sincerely advice all the people who are reading this, please do not buy any AIRTEL services. It is like buying your own sufferings.

    In US the company who harasses its customers faces strict actions from legal bodies. I am a proud INDIAN, so i would be happy if we can do so in India.
