Dear Sir,

I submitted the following applications for issue of Fresh Passports on 17/08/2010 for my son ( 17 years old) and daughter ( 13 years old).

Date of Birth: 17-11-1993

Name: Vidhulaa Vangal
Date of Birth: 13-12-1997

I haven't yet received their passports though the police verification report for my son was completed a month back. My daughter is a minor so a police verification is not necessary.

I would be very obliged if the issue is processed fast since he has to sit for some tests for which the passport is the only document taken as identification proof.

There are some complaints that I would also like to lodge.

1. The website allows us to apply online and says there would be a counter specifically for online applications and the process would be faster.

But sadly, though I had registered online, on arrival at the passport office I was told that there was no such counter.

2. The website professes to track the application every day and give a status report.

But again for 45 days after submission the status of the application was "File no invalid".

From then on the Status is "Police verification report not received" for both applications.

When I visited the office personally last week for status enquiry I was told My son's police verification report has been received and my daughter has been granted a passport.

Still the status on the website has not changed and I have not received the passports.

Why does the office run a website which is not updated regularly and misleading the citizens? The website does not serve any purpose other than imparting information which could not relied on.
