I bought a phone for my mom with idea cellar card in it. A few months ago I recharged it for Rs 250 and a few days later the balance showed zero. I was surprised as my mom isn't very mobile savvy and all she uses the phone is to receive calls. Assuming that a call might have been left on, I recharged for Rs 150 more and a few days later again the balanced showed zero. So I called up the helpline no 4444 and checked with them. They told me that deductions were being made for 'cricket pack' which was activated from my end. It was ridiculous as my mom doesn't know how to send sms. However I told them that I haven't authorized it and I want both the amounts reversed back into my account. They registered a complaint of which I received a sms confirmation saying that I'll receive a call to verify some things within 1 week. Now it has been more than a month and I haven't received any call. When I called 4444 again they told me that they had called up but the phone was not reachable. That is not possible because I had left the phone on all the time for the 2 weeks after registering the complaint. I asked him now, what can be done? He said, there is nothing that can be done and the charges cannot be reversed. I told him that I'll register a complaint in consumer forum. He said, "As you wish". This is infuriating. It is not a question of the amount, but how they 'rob' money out from people's accounts.
