I would like to file a complaint against AVA Merchandising for swindling money from customers. I got a shopping catalogue from AVA along with my ICICI credit card statement. It was offering good deals using the ICICI credit card. I had placed an order for some travel bag on 1-Jul-2010. The order no. is 479397. I haven't received the goods yet and whenever I called the toll free customer care no. ( 1800-1800-300), I got a standard response that the goods will be dispatched in 10 days. The money however was immediately debited from my ICICI card within 2 days of placing the order.
When I called the customer care on 9-Aug-2010, the customer care representative informed me that the delay in dispatching the goods was due to unavailability of stocks and he informed me that I can cancel the order and ask for refund if I wish to by sending a mail to service@avamerchandising.com. I sent the cancellation mail on 10th Aug and on 11th Aug, I received a call from AVA merchandising that there was a miscommunication and they had already shipped my goods on 13-Jul-2010 but was not delivered to me due to couerier fault. The person said, they will re-dispatch the goods within 2-3 days after receiving it back from the couerier company.They also sent me a mail on the same day with the above clarification and gave me the DTDC tracking no. D03378028 as a proof.
The goods were retured to AVA by DTDC on 18-AUg-10 but AVA has not yet dispatched the goods to me. I have written several emails to them after that but there is no response. I tried calling the toll free no. but there was no response. Today I tried calling them again on 0124-4697999 and someone finally responded. He told me the same story that the goods will be dispatched in 5 days. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, he asked me to send a mail again to service@avamerchandising.com. When I pointed out to him that no one responds to those emails , he took the complaint for cancelling my order and said it is a very long process and will take more than 60 days for me to get back the money.
I'm not sure if I would ever get a refund of the products I had order 2 months back. AVA does not respond to my queries on delievry or acknowledge my cancellation of goods. Whenever I call the help desk, the representatives have no knowledge of the background and simplay say that the product will be shipped in a week. Pls. help.
