Dear Sir,

I am an HSBC Credit Card Holder. Some time in the month of May 2010 I received a call from HSBC saying that as a valued customer of HSBC they have got a special offer for me, which is a health insurance policy from Tata AIG. Then they transferred the call to a Tata AIG Executive. I told them it is not possible to decide about a policy over telephone without seeing the documents. They informed me that the documents will be sent to be and after going through it I can cancel it if I do not like it and the money will be credited back to my Credit Card Account after deducting Rs 99/-. I have agreed to it and gave my credit card details to them.

I have received the policy documents immediately within 2-3 days and on going through it, I found it was entirely different from what they told me over telephone. So, I have called up Tata AIG to cancel the policy (Policy No. HCP99000001524). This was subsequently done after so many calls which made me feel totally harassed. The full amount was credited back to my account (less Rs 99/-).

But, since my credit card statement was still not tallying, I called HSBC bank and came to know from them that Tata has issued another Policy to me (Policy No. 1900067100-130) against Fraudulent Charge. Since they have done it without my knowledge or permission, by misusing my Credit Card, I immediately made a complaint to Tata AIG. This complaint was made on 02 August 2010 (Ref. No. 887021381). After so many calls and mails, this policy was also cancelled and they sent me a cheque giving me 50% of the refund.

I fail understand as to why I have to pay for a policy which was issued to me without my permission. I want to file a case against Tata AIG for misusing my credit card. I have written two e-mails to tata AIG regarding the balance 50% refund, but they are not responding.

Regards,

Nirmala Jha
