Rakesh Aggarwal, CEO of the private power distributing company BSES, was Monday removed from his post due to poor handling of the power crisis in the national capital.

According to a source, Aggarwal was dismissed from his position without being informed about any new appointment.

Both wings of the Reliance Energy-owned power distributing company -- Yamuna and Rajdhani -- will now be headed by two CEOs. The Delhi government had been demanding Aggarwal's removal for sometime, the source said.

The power distribution company was under fire from the government, resident welfare associations and NGOs for its poor performance.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has convened a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party Tuesday to discuss the power situation.
