Standard Chartered Credit Card - CIBIL Defaulter List Hello,
I Had Standard Chartered credit card from 2001 to 2006.
While giving the card it was told that it is "FREE" card and there is no annual fees charged for the same. (Oral confirmation - No proof). Post that, each year during the month of October, the card fees used to be part of the card statement. Each time I used to call customer care and got it reversed.
During Oct 2006, the customer care lady refused to cancel the card fees. I decided to cancel the credit card and asked her to tell me the balance due without any card fees. She told that there is total outstanding of Rs. 905/-(Again Oral confirmation - No proof
) . I have repeatedly asked and confirmed the amount and she confirmed so. I have also asked her if can I distroy the cards post paying Rs. 905/-. She told me to wait till I will get confirmation from customer care about closure in next 2-3 weeks.
I never got any confirmation on the contrary, I got statement during the next month with some Rs. 800/- . I have asked about Rs. 905/-. It is being told that they have not received the amount and asked me to share the my Bank statement from which the cheque got debited. I have shared my Bank statement clearly indicating the record. Mean time I am getting the statements with increased late dues every month. During Nov 2006, I finally visited the bank office for closing this once for all. After showing all the past statements and emails, I have settled this amount by paying Rs. 1500/- (
Against total Rs. 6000 odd ). Bank has also given me full and final settlement letter and the receipt.
Now recently I got to know that my CIBIL report shows status as "WRITTEN
OFF" with 0 (Zero) overdue. I have some questions.
1. Does Full and Final Settlement letter does not mean account closure?
2. If yes, Why the status is marked as "WRITTEN OFF"
3. How to change this status ? (Now I have already sent the mail to Standard Chartered and waiting for their response) . IF I am not going to get any reply withing next 20 days, I am going to report this to area Bank Ombudsman
Any other way to change this "WRITTEN OFF" Status?
Regards,
Nitin

late payment charges I had credit card of yours in around 2003 and utilized that I think once to buy something around 1600/- and also made the payment through cheque. But I drop the cheque on the last day. I got the bill of late payment charges, I denied to pay the same. After one year a representative called me to settle the same and pay Rs. 500/-in lump sum. I made the payment and he had given the receipt of the same. But still the amount is increasing day by day. I donot know to whom should I contact and why should I pay anything.

Wrong Selling by SCB Dear Sir,
Today one executive from SCB called me and sold me SCB Credit Card for no annual fees for lifetime. But later on I come to know that there is an annual fees of Rs.750 from the next year. I request to take a sincere action on the selling team as they are ruining the name & goodwill of Bank. Now, I will not give permission to the verification team to process my card application...
