The suspected kidnapping of two senior managers of Bajaj Allianz led to violent protests here Saturday.

Police suspect the two may have been kidnapped for ransom after they went missing since Friday evening. However, their families have not received any ransom calls so far, police said.

Patna Superintendent of Police Rakesh Rathi said Saturday that the manager of the Exhibition Road branch of the company, Rakesh Shanker, and sales manager Prem Prakash went missing "after they left to meet a prospective client".

Rathi said the duo left office to meet somebody after they received a phone call regarding purchase of an insurance policy. Their families lodged a First Information Report with the police when the two did not return home till late at night on Friday.

Police recovered the motorcycle used by them from the railway station, fuelling suspicion that they had been kidnapped.

Some people protested here at the busy Dak Bungalow against the kidnapping. They burnt tyres and shouted slogans and threatened to launch an agitation if police failed to find the two soon.
